My al1916w monitor has a vertical blue stripe on the left side. It works fine except that the striped area discolors video. How do I fix that?

Unfortunately, a stripe on an LCD monitor indicates a physical failure of the LCD panel itself. The only solution is to replace the panel with a new one.

It probably has porblem in the power supply/inverter board, you need to look for bad caps with domed tops, bad MOSFET in the inverter circuits, inverter transformer

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

This usually means the Power Inverter board is going bad. If you're a bit savvy with tech repair, you can look up and order a replacement board - LCD inverters for MANY LCD models are available on ebay and amazon - they're relatively easy to replace. Just make sure the power is UNPLUGGED before to start taking apart the display!

check the hardware compatablity list for windows if the Acer AL1916W 19" LCD is included then get the appropriate driver and install it

Hey Buddy
My AL1916W was having same problem, its due to faulty IFB which cannot save colors after pressing reset, get it replaced from acer, if its in warranty, acer will replace ur LCD within a week.
