I bought an LG 47in. HDTV LCD about 2 years ago and the screen just went out and now looks like a bar code going across the whole screen. The sound still works and can still change the video input but cannot see the picture due to the bar code effect. Is there a simple/quick/cheap solution to fix this problem?

Have you checked all the connections at the back of the tv?

IF you are etting sound but no picture it means that your backlight are not coming on. You will need to replace your baklight inverter. You need to get the part number directly from the part itself.

Hi, I purchased the same model in November 2009. About 2 weeks ago a single horizontal line appeared. Each day another appeared until today when the video went out. Now it displays bands of vertical colored lines like a pastel colored rainbow. Did you find a solution to the problem?

This problems are a very tipical of the coded pixels on the LCD screen panel passes through the board that call the T-CON decoder board to causing this problems.Vertical colors lines display on the LCD screen panel happen by itself.Yes.The T-CON decodering board it is dying and shorting out.This T-CON decodering board sit in the middle at the botton of the LCD screen panel.Replacing this T-CON decodering board will solved this problems,if does not the LCD screen panel itself it is shorting out,than the tv it is not worth fixing,because changing the whole LCD screen panel itself it is not practical and the cost will be the same as a new tv itself.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON decodering board for the replacement.

Most likely a burnt out bulb, if you bought it new, one month ago, it should be covered by the manufacture warranty.

Hello, if the model number is correct it's not a projection tv, but an LCD tv. If that's correct, it sounds like a bad main board issue part # is AGF31218501...thanks

You can't upgrade a panel tv, plasma or LCD.You may have had a plasma panel failure,I sell LG tv's and for the panel to go bad is rare but I have had it happen approx.6 times in the past 5 years.I highly recommend contacting LG"s customer service they will stand behind the panel and get you going again.Good luck!

No the lcd panel is bad. this is not cost effective, sorry i wish i could give you better news. price of lcd panel is 1.300.00. and panel is not aviable.
