Electrolux EL7020 SHUTS OFF Constantly!

My Electrolux EL7020A vacuum shuts off every 2 minutes. There's no blockage, suction is good. Its only 6 months old. I change the bag frequently. And all the filters are clean. What could cause this problem?.

It only does this when in carpet mode and the brush has to spin. The brush is free of debris.

That problem have 2 causes..#1 is loose electrical connection inside or on the power cord..#2 is worn out carbon brush inside of vacuum motor..

Carbon brush is the one of the most serviceable parts of a vacuum cleaner because our vacuum cleaner motor is very hard working parts so the brush inside will possible worn or not connected to the armature of rotor...

Electrolux el 7020 Canister Vacuum shuts of continuously do i need to Change the Carbon Brushes

How old? If fairly new you should not need brushes, bad brushes would probably not allow the vacuum to run at all. Last time you changed filter? Sounds like the cover to the filter is not closing well enough. There's also possibility you have a clog in the wand or hose.

Electrolux model 2100 shuts off with slightest suction blockage

This is exactly the symptom you would expect from a defective bag control valve. The actual control valve sits under the dial on top of the vac and often cracks internally. It can be replaced in about 15 minutes by a good tech with genuine parts from AERUS Elctrolux dealer or repair center.
You can open the vac front to rear like a **** shell by sliding the bumpers out the front with the bag door open, however you must be careful not to disturb the wiring harness and to mark wiring locations. The body must be carefully realigned for closure. If it is not perfect you will not be able to slide the bumpers back in.

My vacuum is constantly shutting itself off. When

It sounds like you have a blockage somewhere and the air is not passing over the motor to keep it cool. There is usually a thermostat mounted either on or near the motor. The blockage can be anywhere from the elbow ( the swivel part of your carpet sweeper if you have a canister vac) up thru the hose.If you have a canister vac, use a broom handle to push through the hose to clear the blockage. DO NOT ! use a coat hanger or anything that will cut or tare the hose. There are electrical wires in it that have 120 volts and causes quite a shock !
.
If you have an upright vac, start with the duct hose that comes from the part with the brush up to the hose and on to the main canister of the vac
If this does not work, take your vac to a reputable vac shop for repair. Hope this helps,
Joe

Why does the hose have no suction?

Hi,
Sounds like your machine has a blockage in the vacuum system, and is cutting out from overheating. If you no longer have a manual, which will tell you about clearing blockages, you can download from the Hoover website.
Good luck!

EL7020A ELECTROLUX VAC SHUTS OFF AFTER 10 MIN

The symptoms you describe are typical of a vac that has a blockage (hence poor suction). It cuts out because it's over-heating. You need to check the hose, the filters and anywhere else where something may have got stuck. Blockages are often caused by things like paper clips, but can be caused by something as apparently harmless as a piece of paper which gets stuck and then debris builds up behind it and causes a log-jam.

My EL7020 so call Electrolux!

Check the electrical connections between the hose and the body of the machine, and also the wand connections all the way to the power head. Sometimes a faulty connection can send a false "off" signal back to the main body of the machine, and turn it off; but usually it will restart if that's the case. It sounds like you have a clog somewhere which is tripping your motor's thermal cutout, but you did say there are no clogs... so if you have full suction all the way down to the powerhead that's not the issue. You could have a faulty thermal switch, but I think the likely cause is, as usual; the sumo board.

Good luck. Sorry I didn't have a more concise answer for you.

Model EL7020 will not stay running!

Try turning the knob on top of the machine all the way to the right and try it again
