I believe this is a belt driven turntable. With the power off, carefully remove the rubber mat. Turn the platter by had until you see the motor pulley through the open holes. If you carefully look at the belt, and it has slipped upwards to the top of the pulley, and not within the guides, that will cause it to spin very fast. Move the belt down between the guides on the pulley. Rotate the platter by hand, to be sure that the belt stays withing the guides. If you need more assistance, or would like to inquire about a repair, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com, and contact me there. Thank you.

Hello!
are you sure, that your speed selector is on 33.3rpm, not 45?
assume, it's in correct speed settings. do you know, that across the ocean power grid AC frequency is 50hz, in US it's 60hz. Means: ac motor will spin faster, than it should. If you bought this unit abroad, that's where is your problem at. some expensive units have 50/60hz pulleys switch, some not. Especially, if it's DC or direct drive motor. Check your owner's manual for specifications. May be you find an answer. If not, there is a problem with motor's regulator, which is built in(DC motor). Turntable is a belt driven. If you won't find 50/60hz adjustments, take it to repair shop.
Good luck,
Alex.

Got a panasonic compact audio system model # SG-HM09A the turntable plays the record fast

there should be a small switch on the inside of the turn table that allows you to switch from 45 (what i think your listening to) to the normal speed which i think is 33

Yorx turntable speed issue, And turntable is warped.

You may be experiencing Acoustic Feedback, although it doesn't really make any sense the way you describe it. Make sure the tonearm is balanced and the proper weight is dialed in on same. Does it make any difference if the volume or bass are turned down, which my point to the Acoustic Feedback.

Tape is playing back in fast forward only

Hello,

It is possible the tape loaded on the wrong side of the drive. If you romove the tape, look for slack and tighten up, try it again or another tape. Otherwise it is likely that a spring for the pressure roller is off or broken. This is not easially repairable.

AFTER adjusting the speed setting to 33, all the records are playing too fast, they sound like chipmunks. I tried all three settings and while each speed is different from each other they all seem to be...

If it says your speed setting in on 33, than you have a problem with the speed control inside of the turntable, there is not much you can do in that area. 33 is the slowest speed too, so it seems like it is stuck on 45 or 78. Call Teac if you are still under warranty.

My turn table is going to fast when i play an record , what can i do to fix this? thanks

Hello the turn table has two speeds. 45rpm and 33rpm (rotations per minute) If you are playing a record that takes up the entire turntable you need to set it on 33rpm. For the records that only take up half of the turntable you want to set it on 45rpm. Setting the turntable on the wrong setting for a certain size record can make the record play to fast of to slow.

Recording Speed

the tascam 414 is a 4 track recording studio which uses standard cassette tapes- meaning they only play in one direction, because the tape is full. The 414 records at double speed so that recording fidelity is increased. When you have made a recording you want to mix you then dub your recording though the outputs into another standard tape recorder or whatever you have available, be it a cd recorder or your PC. So, when you listened to your recording on a standard tape player, you were not only hearing it at half speed but you were only listening to 2 of the 4 tracks. The other tracks would only be heard if you flipped the tape over, and they would be heard running backward. I would have though the 414 had a swich to allow it to also record at standard speed to but I guest it does not.

LP audio recording seems to be at the wrong speed

1- The turntable is set to 45 rpm and the album is recorded at 33 rpm. Press the 33 rpm button the red light should come on turn the and be fine.

or

2- This turn table has a fast record mode where you can record a 33 rpm LP faster by spinning it at 45 rpm. If you are trying to use this mode you will have to make a software setting to tell the TTUSB10 digital converter program what mode you want to run.

Too fast playback of video cassette

Hi,

Initially, I am inclined to think that nothing is wrong. It is just most likely that that particular tape was recorded in a different speed other than what your VCR is capable of playing. This is a form of compression wherein a longer recording/playing time is squeezed into the same type/kind of tape. The various settings are SP, LP, EP or even an XP. Pls click here to give you an idea of the recording time/speed at different settings.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Olympus DS30 voice recorder play speed issue

Hi, the solution to the problem seems to be the following. When u press play, once, you get 1x play. If whilst playing you press play a second time the DS-30 goes into slow play mode, and if you press a second time it goes into fast mode. For those of us who accidentally went into either fast or slow mode, just press the play button again, during playback, until "play" appears on the LCD screen. Apparently it is as simple as that.
