I moved about a month ago and since then, the icemaker doesn't work. Plumber checked the water line coming into the house, and there is water, but water is not getting from that line to the icemaker water line. Water did come through the new filter when it was attached to the house line and flushed, so I don't think it's the new filter and line, but since attaching to fridge, nothing is getting through. When the movers took off the old tubing and filter and put the new one on, could they have damaged something? Or could the move have shaken something loose? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Most fridges don't need a motor to run in order to dispense water. A simple on / off solenoid on the water line (same for the ice maker) that makes a click when changing from off to on and on to off is usually all anyone hears (the ice maker makes rumbling sounds and you can hear ice falling into the bin - too).
Check for ice. If it has a maker and it is making ice, the problem could be a defective water dispenser switch, solenoid or other circuit component or wire. If no ice, I'd suspect a filter or water supply issue.
Make sure the filter is fully inserted and twisted into place. Many filters have marks to align when 1) inserting and 2) to let you know when it is installed correctly. When sure it is installed correctly - try to dispense water again. Many fridges will dispense water without a filter. Check your manual before trying this though! If not working still, remove the filter and try to dispense water. If you're able to dispense water, the problem is either the installation of the filter or the filter itself. Try to re-install it correctly. Try to dispense water again.
If it still doesn't work - call the plumber back and ask why there's no water. Or - try this yourself:
Locate the point of attachment to the domestic water supply that the plumber used. There should be a valve to turn the water on and off. If off, turn ON. Try to dispense water again.
If that doesn't work - check to see if the fridge has pinched, kinked or crushed the water supply line. You may need to move the fridge forward to gain access to the water line and connection point on the fridge. Repair or replace the line as needed and route in such a way that moving the fridge in or out will not cause it to damage the line again.
What you are probably dealing with is the little valve called (Water Valve) on the back of side of the refrigerator usually down low towards the bottom right hand side if you are facing the back of unit. Its the part that the water line run into and also will be a water line coming out of it going up the back of the fridge and goes thru into the freezer to the Ice maker in the freezer
Hello, Make sure the arm on the icemaker is in the down position,if it is up and locked in place the icemaker is off. If it is down and the icemaker is turned on,each time it got cold enough the to cycle the icemaker(usually about a hour) the icemaker started and for 7 years power was sent to the water inlet valve to fill the icemaker and the icemaker side of the water valve is burnt up. The water valve has 1 inlet teh house water supply attaches to and 2 outlets 1 for icemaker and 1 for door dispenser
NOTE: This is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully. Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees See if water is in icemaker. Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects. If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that attaches to water line out of wall) If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker. If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running It moves air to the ref from the freezer Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge. Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean. There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card. Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. how long has it been out of action,( i mean switched off ), It could well be that the pump to the ice maker may now have siezed, also take a look at the filter, any sediment would now have solidified.
I recently found out that the water supply lines are coiled up inside behind the frige on the refrigerator side moving the unit will cause those coiled up lines to shift to the freezer side of the unit, causing a freeze up,take the cardboard lower back off and move those lines further away from the freezer side of the unit, as one of those coiled up lines are to chill the water for the dispenser and the other is supply for the icemaker, this should fix your problem, becareful not to move them too far away from the freezer side as they are meant to chill the water for the dispenser

First, check to make sure you have water pressure at your supply line. (flex hose) If you have pressure and the icemaker is cycling, (arm moving up and down on its own) you most likely have a defective water inlet valve. This is the valve that the supply line connects to. Water is fed to this valve through your flex hose and then passed through a solenoid to your icemaker when the solenoid is energized.
