Thank you for using Fixya. What exactly is the problem? Can you please describe the problem in detail?
TV turns on and shuts down again in 1 second
I have a 26' Toshiba LCD TV Model: 26WL65G. When I plug in and turn it on it seems to start normally, but when screen turns on blue screen appears as normal and it goes back to stand-by mode immidiately in 1 second. I suspected from the backlight inverter board and replaced it. Also I checked the ccfls but each one works fine. I also replaced the capacitors on the power supply with new ones. It still makes the same. Finally I tried to run the TV with disconnected cables from mainboard to inverter. There are 2 cables which goes from the mainboard to inverter. I disconnected them and it didnt shut down. Sound comes normally but screen doesnt open up. I think there might be problem with mainboard. Anyone can help me about this issue? If there is something I can do without replacing the mainboard?? TV Model: 26WL65G Mainboard Model: 17MB15E-7 Inverter Model: I260B1-12C
From what you have described, this is definitely a main A/V board problem. Since you say it shows a blue screen before it shuts off, I would suspect the logic control circuitry(micro processor and such) failing to initialize the tuner/ video processing circuits. Since these components are solid-state(embedded into the board during manufacture) it is not possible to replace them. You should replace the entire board. Most part stores have a minimum of 30-day money back guarantee. The inverter costs about 30$ right? Return it and add another 30-40$ you will get mainboard. It should not cost more than that for a set of this size.
Can you tell me where can I get that mainboard?
You can try shopjimmy.com. Search for the part using the part number that is printed on the board because there will usually be 3-4 versions of the same board and the part number is the only way to ensure that you get the correct part. Versions are usually indicated by ver 1.0, Rev.1.0 or a slight change in the part number itself.
I have checked the shopjimmy.com before. They dont have my mainboard. Can you check for that mainboard anywhere else you know? Also I want to ask, do you understand from projection televisions?
Sure shhot me the psrt number and revision version of the board and I will find it for you.
And yes I can help you with your projrction tv as well.
Here are the numbers I see on the board:
17MB15E-7
26207576 26"
20332322
TN478-FRAN-241
I have a projection TV SONY KDF50E2000. The TV wasnt turning on because of the bad lamp. I have replaced the lamp and now the TV turns on normally. But there is a red band at the top of the screen and the picture is bigger than normal. I mean half of the channel logo cannot be seen. Do you know how can fix this problem?
Here you go. If you do not reside in the UK let me know and I will get you a different source. 17MB15E-7 is the part number. E-7 is the version of the board.http://flattvparts.co.uk/index.php?main_...
I will buy the mainboard you told me, and give it a try.
Can you help me with my projection TV problem too?

I will definitely help you. But please get me a screenshot of the image so that I can see for myself what it looks like for accurate diagnosis of the problem.
I meant a picture of the screen with the tv on. Not "Screenshot" sorry for the goof up!

Here is the picture..
It is as I feared. The problem you have is caused by a malfunctioning optical block. The LCD unit that projects the image through the lens is the source of the problem. Unfortunately it cannot be removed/replaced seperately. The entire optical block would have to be replaced. The cost of the part usually runs about 800-1000$. It might be best to give up on the set and go for an LCD flat panel tv. You would get a 46-50 inch tv for the cost of the optical block!
I should also mention that in some places they replace the LCD panel/chip seperately, but it requires a lot of skill and about 1% of the techs are capable of this kind of repair. IF you can find one in your area who does this, the repair charge will run about 300$
