Hitachi TV screen adjustment

Depending on the model the set or a cable box may have an adjustment for this---simple thing to do also is hook to DVD player via rear inputs to see if same problem or not.

Issue may be adjustable in the Tech menu with your remote---you need to see if you can find the service manual (with schematics and information about getting into that menu and how to adjust).

Try to GOOGLE MODEL NUMBER WITH service manual or contact Pioneer.

Press "wide mode" on TV remote until it is on "full". Check for same on set-top box.

I think it would likely work if you trimmed it evenly around the sides in order to maintain the central position. Focus may have to be adjusted but thats all.

Unless you adjusted somthing to cuase this, this could be a falt in the tv. Caps in the vertical circuit or some other failure. Possibly in the pin circuit. This may not be an adjustemnt. There is somthing in the service menu to do a vertical height adjustment, but in my experience it usaly is somitng else wrong.

I have a panasonic PT50LCX64 tv a blue screen comes on and say,"airfilter need cleaning. I have vacumed, it worked for awhile only to do the same thing again

Verical position is hard to adjust and is in service menu. A service manual will get you there, but you might get lucky with the vertical size adjustment. If you open the front of the TV, the vertical size is adjusted with a knob on the deflection board. Remove the speaker grille and take off the access panel. You will see two knobs, one horizontal and one vertical. Be careful, those red wires have 30,000 volts on then, don't touch anything but those knobs. If its just an adjustment, the v-size knob will fix. Set it so ESPN ticker is just above the bottom of the screen. *Service mode - the manual tells little but entering is done by "press and hold the input button, press the power button, release both after you hear HV come up" .. the v-pos parameter is in there, but this manual doesn't say where or how to adjust, procede at your own risk. If you get into trouble, pull the power so you don't save any settings. I believe you just navigate through the menus to find the parameter and use arrows to adjust. Enter may save. Sorry the service manual I have tells nothing much.

You need to adjust "vertical height" in the service program. You need to put the set in "service mode" to do this adjustment. If you google "enter service mode RCA F32665" you should find the procedure. It will be listed in abbreviated letters such as VERT SIZE or VERT HT. Follow the instructions for entering service mode and saving the data closely!! The data you change will be listed as a number between 1 and 63. The number will only need to reduced by a small amount and you can still see the picture behind the data and watch it shrink as you adjust the number down.Always burn the new number to memory (if required) before exiting service mode. On the remote, if you use the right and left keys on the pad with the OK sign in the middle, it will adjust the screen to several sizes including Cinema, 16:9, 4:3, Zoom, etc. I, personally, use 16:9 because I, like you, need to see the ticker symbols at the bottom. I hope this helps.
