No mist is coming out of the unit. What is the problem?
Same thing is happening to me this season - and it's none of the above - it's the darn pump. The HUT220s have been perfect for 2 seasons, but this year, the pumps rattle and growl no matter what I try, and one won't pump water at all. I had to call Kaz/Honeywell for replacement pumps. 1-800-477-0457.
Oh yeah, and he's sending them NO CHARGE!
It took "Bill" a while, but he found some for me. Honeywell inventory system says there are none in stock, so if you call and someone tells you they are out of stock, MAKE THEM CHECK WITH THEIR SUPERVISOR - THEY ARE THERE SOMEWHERE! They probably list them under the new model number for this year "220W" but the whole 200 series uses the same pumps based on all the photos/diagrams you can see online.
I looked all over online for them to see if I could find them sooner than the 3-4 weeks it will take to deliver them, but there are none to be found. If anyone knows a place that delivers to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, let me know!
SOURCE: Humidifier makes a huge noise and no mist
According to the Crane's Troubleshooting section:
The power light is green but there is no mist being emitted:
- Check that there is water in the tank.
- Check for possible lime deposits on the water level sensor or the nebulizer.
- Make sure that nothing blocks the vapor output slots.
- Check that the fan vent on bottom of humidifier is not blocked.
- Empty the humidifier and rinse the water basin with cool tap water and allow to dry for 15 to 30 min.
This next part may or may not be relevant.
Humidifier power light is staying red and not turning green. Or, Humidifier is working then stops:
- Ensure that water level sensor is assembled properly.
- Clean water float.
- Call service center and request replacement water float.

tentative on the Solution icon ...
I picked this up a couple days ago at the Salvation Army, 3 bucks. I also had way too much damp coming out, saturating anything near.
I read through the comments, and one folk said they uncovered the spaz unit and tightened the screw they found there, to no avail. They asked if they should reopen and loosened the screw ...
Which I did. Took me a while, and maybe those who aren't used to investigating the inner workings shouldn't try it unless they're willing to make a mistake and throw it away, but ...
I loosened the screw. Not sure if it was a quarter turn or a half turn; I wanted to do more and have learned many times that "more" is not "better."
I have a cardboard box in front of the unit for hours now, and it is not saturated.
The factory setting, whether it be for all or some, is too wet. Loosening the screw that shows through the computer board has, for me, made the unit more tolerable. Takes an eyeglass-screwdriver to get it done, but if'n ya has the general know-how to investigate things, maybe it'll work for you.

Ensure there is water in the tank.
The solution: push up on that small rubber gasket so that it is as far up and away from the screw cap as it can be without falling off, and voila! you get mist!!
SOURCE: WHY DON'T MIST COME OUT OF MY HUMIDIFIER
with cool mist humidifiers your not suppose to see any mist. if it's a warm mist there should be. but by your model number i'm finding that it's a cool mist. that's why your not seeing any mist.
