Canon DR-3080cii paperjam

The scanning software keeps telling me "paper jammed in scanner; clear paper and continue. (-4426)" We've cleared everything we could (short of taking it apart). Where are the sensors for paper jams?

This seems to be the rollers. I have scraped the obvious gunk off them but am still getting the paperjam error and it stops about halfway into pulling the paper in. Is there a replacement kit out there for the front rollrs? I see 6915A002AA out there for the back rollers.

After job finishes it is still looking for paper and throws a 4426 paper jam error. It is an intermittent problem. I tried to clean all the sensors i could find.

The 3 paper sensors are located along the center of the paper path. They are: Registration (lever type) on the bottom between separation & registration. Look for lever damage or torn paper. Scan Start (reflective) on the top between registration & front reading roller. Clean the sensor window with qtip & alcohol. Delivery (lever) at the eject roller. Same as reg, but harder to see due to location. The feed roller exchange kit is 6915A001. The rollers in this machine are not considered user replaceable.

When scanning, there are lines on the image I have scanned.

Use a blank sheet of paper (as white and clean as possible). Put it in the scanner landscape ( you will need to cut off about 1/2 inch of the paper to make it fit. The run the DR-3080CII Shading tool (DR3KUserSh.exe) C:\Program Files (x86)\Canon Electronics\DR-3080CII\DR3KUserSh.exe

Dr 5010c feeds one to five sheets, then stops

Clean the rubber rollers (pickup and ******) with a damp cloth, loosen the papers to be scanned. Clean all the rollers in the scanning path. What is the eror that is displayed? Download the user manual from this site http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSoftwareAct&fcategoryid=2341&modelid=11293 (5010um.pdf). Change the rollers if they are old.

How do I clean the rollers on a canon DR-3080CII The paper seems to be slipping a little.

Lightly dampen a cloth with water or rubbing alcohol. Gently rub across the roller side-to-side, rotate a little, and continue until you've gone all the way around. The most important rollers are the 3 at the paper feeding area  (2 top & 1 bottom). The bottom roller will be harder to turn than the top 2. Just be gentle & patient to avoid tearing the rubber. Frequent light cleanings are better than waiting for problems to crop up.

Canon DR-3080 CII Scanner

I recieved this error when trying to scan pages in using our new Kofax scanning solution with a DR-3080CII. I discovered that the latest canon driver for that scanner was not compatible with the software and it made the application hang in the background. I found an older driver that was compatible and installed it, no more error.

My Canon DR-2050C keeps jamming when I try to scan more than 1 page???

I finally solved my problem. Now it works like new.

Cause:

- The spring that returns the next sheet detector (small black plastic rocker arm between the two rollers on the back side) came off. So the scanner cannot detect transition from one page to the next. This spring is located inside the device and you cannot fix it from the outside.
- You know if you have this problem if you don't hear a "click" sound after each page is scanned. Without the spring attached the rocker will not return on every page. When it doesn't return the scanner think it is still on the first page and will not scan the next page. The "click" after each page is NORMAL. Without the click is the first sign your spring came off.

Solution (Only recommended for people handy with hardware and the unit is no longer under warranty)

1. Turn off power and unplug the device.
2. Pop off the plastic cover to the back of the scanner
3. Remove the screws that holds the plastic cover to the back.
4. Remove the screw by pushing on the retainer clips. DO NOT loosen any gears or motors.
5. Locate the rocker arm and re-connect the (very small) spring

6. Warning - if the LED light pipe falls out be careful how you put it back. This is a transparent widget at the top to route a LED light to the top of the device to indicate the power on status.

Sorry I didn't take pictures. If this sounds too complicated, send it to Canon for repair. Took me about a day to figure out exactly what was wrong and how to disassemble the scanner to fix it.

Good luck.
