Frigidaire plef398acb error code f7 - Ovens

Question edited for clarity and all the typos.

All questions need 'make model (what it is)' as first 3 words.

Generic advice on a generic F7 Oven Error code.

F7 error code can be a result of a faulty wire harness (short-circuit), defective heating elements or oven sensor. A qualified service technician will need to have a look, determine faulty part then replace or repair it.

Most error codes can be cleared just by unplugging the unit and re-plugging it back in. If this doesn't clear it then I would go to Frigidaire's web site and search for tech support. I did some checking with Frigidaire and they don't show a code f27 I was wondering if maybe it was showing two codes F2 and F7? so it might look like F2,7?

U have a bad clock or your probe inside of oven is bad.I would replace your probe first .it looks like a rod sticking out inside back upper top .f7 I believe means its not reading up temp and getting to hot

Error code F7 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. On a GE range oven F7 indicates either a function pad button is stuck or the clock on the oven is malfunctioning

On the 99 Range oven F7 indicates a shorted Clear/Off Key due to membrane switch or a shorted control or connector

On the GE XL44 Self Clean Oven F7 is Stuck keypad or control relay malfunction

There was a tag on stove that told on the error codes. Reset pad, it was somehow stuck. Thank you for your help!!

Here is the error information for Fault Code F7

F7 Lock motor relay watchdog circuit is active when it should be off Microprocessor checking the operation of the EDC lock, relay failed. Replace EDC.

f7 is a shorted key-stuck function on control

F7-E1 - Common Switch Wire Is Defective - This error occurs when common wire to latch switch and door switch is shorted.
Check all connections at control board and at the latch switch and door switch.
If connections are ok, then check individual switches as outlined for the F5 error code.
