I cannot transfer videos to my computer with my Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6

My OS is Vista. I can get for example Picassa to recognize the device, but it will not download the videos I've taken.

I cannot find any support online through Sanyo either. This was a rental camcorder, supposedly new when I got it.

Any suggestions? I just want to be able to transfer data from the Xacti to the computer. I'm connecting via a USB 2.0 port.

Thanks in advance for your help!

After the USB cord is connected, a menu will popup on the camera. The camera needs to be told you want to transfer files with the usb rather than use the camera as a webcam for example.

Selecting USB Connection / Card Reader on the camera should allow you to access your files on the camera.

You could try removing the memory card from the camera and using an external usb card reader on it.

I've downloaded my first video files from my Sanyo VPC HD1000 Xacti but all I get is a green screen that plays audio but not video. I'm using Mac os x Tiger.

In my opinion,it is due to you haven't choose the right video format.
Video Download Studio can help you with this very well.
get a free trial from http://www.downloadvideos-convert.com/download-videos-music

Driver sanyo vpc cg6

When the Sanyo CG6 is plugged into the computer, and the popup menus on the camera are directed to USB Card Reader Mode, you should not require any drivers for Windows or MacOS.

Review the CG6 Users Manual for more information.
