My landlord is claiming that a nickle and a quarter and non-HE detergent caused an apartment flood in the Asko W6022 front loader washing machine. Seems to me unlikely that concentrated soap and a few coins would cause flooding throughout an apartment. Are Asko's known to have this problem? Do you think its likely that is the root cause of the flooding?

There is no screen! I bet it was a dime that was caught in the pump. It has happened to me several times to the point where we double check all pockets when loading washer. Coins larger than a dime stay in drum or in lower basket. Poor design! I now leave the back of washer loosened and have mastered pulling hose off the PLASTIC pump housing and reaching in to pull out the coin.

i just recently had a frontloader delivered WITH shipping bolts IN PLACE also... it did the whole LEAK EVERYWHERE thing too!!! The repair guy has already looked at the damage and the ENTIRE machine is being replaced as we speak. BOTH baskets had rips torn into them and it is only holding itself up by ONE shock right now. Sears definitely owes you BIG TIME!!! I'd DEMAND a new washer immediately.
SOURCE: I have an Asko W6022
Hello, welcome to FixYa. I understand by your post you have an Asko washer & dryer stacked. I think you are inquiring about a leak that has developed on the washer, but since you alluded to working on the dryer as well I want to be sure. As for servicing them, (either wash or dryer...I have both) I can send you the authorized Asko service manual for the W600 series washer that will clearly guide you in any service you may need to do. If you want to post an email address I can fire it off to you in the morning (It is presently just after 11pm mountain time where I reside so my PC is off and I'm heading to bed) If you can wait 7-8 hours that is. Let me know and I'd be glad to help in any manner I can. Thanks for choosing FixYa today. Regards, Macmarkus :)

you might be putting the detergent in the wrong part of the dispenser,or you might have the hose on the wrong way,or the water valve has failed. Read up on your user manual to see what happens on this part of the cycle, does the w/m empty ,then try and bring in more water?? The main give away to this fault is,detergent still in the dispenser.Check all your filters on your inlet hose and water valves.
You have to ask yourself what has changed, cheers.
