Pilot wont stay lit flame wont come on
The thermocouple is bad.replace it and your good to go.about 8 or 10 bucks at your local hardware
There is a therma-couple that the flame burns against. When it is working correctly it allows gas to travel to the flame. When it goes out you get no gas, as a safety feature. Replace the therma couple and it should work again.

If dust gets into the pilot safety device called an ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) then the safety thinks the air is low and kicks the pilot off. To remedy it I flush the pilot with a little rust buster. This cleans the dust out without disturbing the air flap. I have repair photos and a neat demo video that shows how it works HERE

Tap pilot head to knock off any built up corrosion and rust and flame will get better and keep pilot lit
