SOURCE: TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,

  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

SOURCE: hooking up replacement mobo 946 GZT-AM V:1.0. Need

HD LED is just a LED -- if you get it "backwards", either the lamp will light or it won't. No big deal.

PWR SW is a switch -- press the button to close the circuit,
and release the button to open the circuit. Polarity does not matter.

USB connectors have 9-pins: 4 in one row, and 5 in the other row.
So, look for a '1' on the motherboard, beside the first pin;
there is no 10th pin.

Did the motherboard *NOT* come with a reference manual?

Did you search on the Internet for the manual for "946 GZT-AM" ?

Testimonial: "good start"

I have an MS-7502VER:1.2 motherboard and i cannot find wher to plug the power switch into

Hi scouts692

The Front Panel Header Pin arrangement for this motherboard is unusual, in that the header only appears to have 8 pins in a single column rather 2 parallel columns of 6 Pins with 1 blank, as most conventional motherboards do.

Pin 1 is POWER SWITCH orange or red (PWR SW 1)
Pin 2 is POWER SWITCH white or black (PWR SW 2)
Pin 3 is POWER LAD + (PWR LED -)
Pin 4 is POWER LED - (PWR LED +)
Pin 5 is HARD DRIVE LED - (HD LED -)
Pin 6 is HARD DRIVE LED + (HD LED +)
Pin 7 is RESET SWITCH blue or green (RST SW/RST 1)
Pin 8 is RESET SWITCH white or black (RST SW/RST 2)

Please refer to a PDF of the Motherboard Manual for additional information about the setup of this motherboard (the relevant page for the Front Panel Header is page 17/Section 2-13)

hope this helps.

These cables were not conected. Power led reset led pwr sw hdd led. I have located the connection points i think but not the actual placement.

Here are the connections sockets. The front panel power connection socket is this one marked as C

and here are the connections details for the pins

Mention that the leds (power and hd activity) have no problem in reverse polarity connection. They will not light on. So if you came up with this problem, reverse the polarity.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

There are may motherboards, but most have writing on them as to what is suppose to plug where. For example, for the power switch, the lettering might be "Pwr" or "Power" or "Pwr sw". The pins are usually together and should fit the plug on the end of the wire.
