Nikon d200 sprayed with water

Help! my nikon d2oo got sprayed with lake water (not salt). After I let it dry it for 30 hours i tried it. Everything works, it can read cards, autofocus works, WB, Q, ISO controls etc. Everything seems fine EXCEPT it cannot recognize any lens that I put on it. THe display reads an fEE error. It cannot display aperture and speed values.

Is this a major damage or can still be fixed?

Thanks a lot.

I would suggest that you give the contacts a good clean (gently of course) on both the camera body and lens'.

Also although the water would make no difference, make sure if you have any lens' with aperture rings to put them round to F33 or the smallest aperture, if they aren't this will cause the fEE.

Hope this helps

Running in TTL mode with Nikon D200, flash EF-500 DG ST NAd, doesn't work. In manual mode everything runs well.

this flash is not compatible with the d200. i had one and sent it back to sigma, they upgraded the software in the flash for free. now it works in all modes, it needs to be iTTL to work on the nikon d200 the NAd version is not iTTL.

My Nikon D200 keeps blowing out the whites and sometimes everything in the shot. You can reshoot the same subject and everything is fine but sometimes you can get a good shot. Any suggestions?

try not using the full auto settings all the time. the auto system has a tendancy to over expose. the camera can over or under judge the lighting and make an improper exposure

My Nikon D2oo is not working with Extreme 111 Compact flash cards that I just had the camera Format. There is an burn oder coming from either the camera or card.Wanting to put card not formatted with...

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa.

Please if the card contains any important pictures, connect it to a computer and copy them to the computer if they are not backed up. Then put the card in the camera and format the card in the camera, then you can connect it back to the computer, put those pictures in there and then the card back into the camera if that is what you wanted to do.

Note that the camera might not show your pictures, unless they are named the same way as original pictures taken with the camera.

D200 will not turn on

Have you checked for dirt in the camera battery compartment. Take some high powered air spray and blow it clean. See if that fixes it.

Nikon D200 problem with SIGMA 28-200 lens - works on one D200 and not my other

Sigma lenses sometimes need re-chipping for full compatability with certain Nikon camera. They are usually quite good about doing this gratis.
Try the Sigma on another body at the camera shop or at home (preferably and older AF film camera). If it works then its likely just a chip compatibility issue.

Nikon D200 Water Damadged

It can be repaired, but usually water-damaged cameras are either worthless or VERY expensive to repair. I should expect that yours is destroyed, since Nikon's D200 is not designed to be waterproof, and has many electronic and steel parts which are very susceptible to being destroyed by the infiltration of water. A good camera shop would give you an estimate for no charge. If they tell you that it is beyond repair, you might take it to another shop for a second opinion. Is it possible for you to claim the damage on any insurance? You might check with your insurance agent just to be sure.
