you have to connect the tv tuner directly to the coax cable coming in. The receiver will not tune tv channels. You can then connect the tv to the receiver via optical cable

10 Select the "Channel Setup" or similarly worded function. Set the Input to "Cable" and perform an "Auto Scan" to locate all available cable television channels.

11 Select the "Channel Setup" or similarly worded function, then set the input to "Antenna" and perform an "Auto Scan" to locate all available broadcast channels. Your television will locate both broadcast and cable television channels.

12 Scan the channels on your television to make sure all available channels have been found. If you are missing any channels that you know you should have, manually program the channels into your television using the "Channel Setup," "Manual Channel Setup" or similarly worded function.

First off get the TV on the right channel. It will either be ch3 or ch4. If you are using a cable box the dvd/vcr combo will have to be on ch3 or ch4 as well. OK, Make sure the input connector on the combo is hooked to the output connector of the cable box and the output connector of the combo is hooked to the input connector of the tv. Deal with one part at a time. First hook the combo to the tv and get the tv on the right channel (ch3 or ch4) so that you can see a pre-recorded dvd or video play. Then you will know what channel the tv is supposed to be on. When you find it don't bother the tv channel any more. Stop the dvd or video and hook up the cable box and turn on the cable box and set the box to a known good channel. Now put the combo on ch3 or ch4 with the combo's channel selector buttons until you see the cable box playing on the tv (remember you already set up the tv channel). Change channels on the box but don't bother the channels on the tv or combo anymore. You can put the box on whatever channel you want. The box will be your channel selector. I certainly hope that this helps. I know it can be confusing but don't give up. Just remember that the tv and combo have to always be on ch3 or ch4 (which ever one you found before). When you say "can't get the TV to play through the VCR", do you mean that you can't get the cable-stations to play through the VCR to the TV? I'll assume that's what you're trying to accomplish.

The most common way to connect a VCR to a TV is through a coaxial cable, from the port on the rear of the VCR labeled "Out to TV." There should be another coaxial port labeled "Cable/Ant In." This is where I picture your cable programming is currently connected.

Instead, it sounds like you connected the VCR to a modulator (probably thru RCA composite cables, which have yellow / red / white plugs). Then the modulator connects to the TV thru a coaxial cable. This will successfully play the VCR to whatever specific channel (perhaps 2, 3 or4), but the modulator doesn't know of any other signals to send to your TV.

2 possible solutions:

1) If the modulator has a coaxial port labeled "Cable/Ant In" or something indicating "In" at a threaded coaxial port, connect your cable-programming to this instead of the to the VCR.

Depending on what type of modulator it is, when you want to switch from watching the VCR to watching cable-programming, you might have to push a button on the modulator to make the swtich, or you might not. Your modulator might put the VCR on channel 3, and allow the higher cable channels to filter though to their respective stations. Most cable providers will leave channels 2, 3 and 4 blank for this purpose. Try it and see.

2) Axe the modulator. Take it out of the system entirely. Connect your cable programming to the VCR "Cable/Ant In" and use another coaxial cable to go from the VCR's "Out to TV" port to the TV. When you want to switch from watching the VCR to watching cable, press a button on your VCR or the VCR's remote. Usually this button is labled, "TV/VCR."

I looks like you are picking 110W with the LNB on your left if you are facing the dish.
Try to get 119W first if you connect the cable to the 119 LNB, once you find 119W that way, you will also have 110W.

Yes, you can connect the MX119 'Multi-Amp' output connection to the MC7205 using a 'Parallel' 25-pin cable. It will send Front_L/R/Center/Surround_L/R signals (5 total) to the MC7205, then use a separate pair of RCAs cable to connect the 2 back-surround signals to another 2-channel amp and you are all set.

Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.
