Dell photo 926 printer communication problem

Tried all the dell support down loads, tried a new usb cable, .still says the printer cant comunicate with the computer

    dell 926 no communication after unplugging usb' s to new desk. won't let me uninstall printer to reinstall software. message reads wait untill print job is finished but it ain't printing.

I went to start menu, control panel, printers, and my print said offline Ileft click and it said on the little drop down menu use printer online I clicked that and reprint my stuff, it worked out fine.

1)right click the my computer icon
2)click properties and then click hardware n go to device manager.
3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes
4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers
5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer
6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next
7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly.

Try changing your firewall, it worked for me. I got my 926 a year with my Dell and had no problems until I replaced my expired Norton w/a freebe I download & the problems started. Would not comunicate sometiimes and when it did it printed once than froze. Would not delete printed doc or print the next. I remembered that McAfee made my old Emachine freeze or crash. Put Norton back on and no more problems. Hope this helps you.

    Are you F_ING serious!!!!!!!!!!!! Norton just like macafee **** and jam up your pc too much. Microsoft users now we have free seurity and recomended by microsoft, so instead of fighting ur firewall like norton does and jam all up ur pc, it works all greatly now fast and i dont have to do nothing or worry. But since Norton is gone my printer is doing same. NO WAY I GO BACK, hopefully u can get fixed

Printer cannot communicate with computer

look in the sticker of product /model/ maker. then go to the website and search for the driver. download it. when installing the driver it will ask to plug in the printer wire usb cable from printer into computer to complete process.. sometimes the manual of printer show a procedure of menu keys to set up printer to pc to calibrate printer. .
in control panel. search for devices and printers. look for the printer when located. try a print out.give it a test. good luck

Reset my Dell 926 all in one printer

Hi,

The Dell 926 printer is an All-In-One model that you can use as a printer, scanner and a fax machine. When the printer becomes unresponsive there may be a communication problem between the printer and your computer. To correct this type of problem you need to first verify that the USB connector cable is not malfunctioning. You can do this by resetting the communication settings between the computer and the printer.
y1 Press the "Power" button to turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet or the power strip.

      Disconnect the USB connector cable for the printer from the computer.

      Turn off your computer from the Windows "Start" menu or by pressing the "Power" button.

      Plug the USB connector cable back into a USB port on the computer.

      Plug the power cord for the printer back into power strip or electrical outlet.

    • 6

      Press the "Power" button to turn on the printer. Press the "Power" button to turn on your computer.

No disc came with printer 926 so I downloaded the driver, but can't seem to communicate with the printer. The screen keeps showing Found New Hardware, but the search shows nothing found.

hello ! I u must have down loaded a wrong software for the printer go back to dell website and get the right software for ur printer

And pls check if the USB cable is ok by swaping it (Another cable )

I can print from my Dell 926 all in one, but it wont scan

Try removing your 926 icon in Printers and Faxes, disconnect the USB cable, restart your computer, reconnect the USB cable, see the 926 and install the driver again. If scan has never worked, you probably need a different driver.

MY COMPUTER DOESNT RECOGNIZES THE PRINTER DELL PHOTO 926 IT HAS NEW INK

Power off the printer and disconnect the USB (Parallel ?) cable from the printer to the PC. Reconnect the cable. Restart your PC.

If that doesn't work ... go to Start - Printers and Faxes and delete the Dell Photo 926 icon. Then, power off the printer and disconnect the cable from the PC. Power on the PC and log in. Reconnect the cable and see if the printer is found. If so, install the Photo 926 printer driver. If the printer is not found, you have a printer cable or printer hardware problem. Good luck.
