Problem with JVC GR-D70EK camcorder

I have just been given the machine and all that can be seen in the recording mode are multiple vertical lines which only give a faint colour indication of the image.

Thanks very much Welcome Jee. As I live in the UK the site link wasn't appropriate but JVC Uk ( www.jvc.co.uk ) has a similar scheme and the CCD Imager is being replaced at no cost. This offer in the UK is valid until 31 December 2008.

It is symptom of bad CCD Imager in your JVC camera and JVC will repair it free of cost. Click JVC Support link to see details.

click on the above link to find out how to get this repaired free. It will cost you nothing in parts, labour or carriage costs but be quick it expires at the end of this year. I had mine done in November. it took two weeks from the first phone call until I got it back and now works perfectly.

being a fact that JVC camcorders are very trouble prone, it would probably be a better ideal & cheaper to buy a new camcorder.
for your next camcorder purchase, i would stay away from anything made by JVC.

Elakkis, I am sorry you are having a problem with your JVC camcorder. Your camera more than likely has a defective CCD imager which is being replaced by JVC factory service at no charge because of a problem with the Sony CCD chip being used.
