SOURCE: sata hdd windows dell recovery cd will partition install windows

The system is originally designed to use IDE HDD, make sure the necessary chages for Sata HDD are made in the BIOS, next make sure the Recovery disc is fine without any scratches. You can order a new Windows OEM recovery disc by calling Dell tech support (1-800-624-9896-US) and try installing the OS. The disc will cost you not more than $12.

SOURCE: i cant access my intergrated

You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on thislink to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

How to restore sandisk from Factory Image Recovery on Dell Inspiron 1545

Hey Pam,

The factory image on the 1545 is accessed by starting the computer and press the F8 key. Choose the option that reads Repair Your Computer and follow the prompts. If this does not work you will need to manually reinstall Windows. Below is a link that will provide information on manually installing Windows.

How to Restore or Reinstall Windows on your Dell Computer
http://dell.to/Yq0yzy
Dell Factory Image Restore The Dell Factory Image Restore tool replaces PC Restore. Access it from the F8 boot menu.
This utility formats the operating system hard drive partition prior to restoring the factory image. This means data on that partition is deleted and cannot be recovered.
If the customer creates a second partition with a third-party utility, Dell Factory Image Restore is not affected as long as the image partition is not removed.

If you need any further assistance you can email me from my email address listed below.

I believe that when you turn it on, you have to hold down the CTRL and either F10 or F11 (I've heard of both working) and that should get you into the recovery partition.

Need a key-stroke combination to access the recovery partition.

Hey there, After doing some googling it seems that the default key for dell PCs to access the recovery partition is pressing CTRL+F11 while your computer is booting up.

as for the hanging after 2 hours, it could be several items, try this:
  1. Flash the system bios to the most current (support.dell.com)
  2. Install the latest Notebook system software (Support.dell.com)
  3. if not already done, update the modem driver.
  4. Edit MSCONFIG startup group of un-necessary items see if issue goes away

When you power on your laptop, start tapping F8, choose Repair Your Computer if it's listed. If it's not listed then try using the recovery partition. To access the recovery partition, there should be a prompt when powering on about what key to press to use the Recovery Partittion. Once there just follow the prompts thru to the end. Choose Restore to Factory Image or Factory Settings. If you can't access your recovery partition, then find the recovery DVDs they usually distribute with newly purchased computers and run those discs. Please leave feedback on the information you've been given.

Trying to install entir dell 4600 system I had a virus and I don't know how to reinstall it

DELL USUALLY HAS A RECOVERY PARTITION. TO GET TO IT YOU MUST PRESS THE " F11 " KEY MANY TIMES WHILE IT BOOTING UP. THIS SHOULD GET YOU TO THE SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTION. JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. DELL ALSO HAS SUPPLIED RECOVERY CDs INSTEAD OF THE RECOVERY PARTITION. IF YOU DIDN'T GET THE CDS THEN YOU PROBABLY HAVE THE PARTITION.
