IT SOUNDS AS IF YOU HAVE SOME MAJOR SOFTWARE CONFLICT THAT IS CONFLICTING WITH WINDOWS. IF YOU HAVE ADDED ANY SOFTWARE LATELY REMOVE ALL UNECESSARY PROGRAMS, THEN GO TO SYSTEM TOOLS AND RESTORE TO A PREVIOUS DATE WHEN IT WAS WORKING WITHOUT SHUTTING DOWN. IF WORSES COMES TO WORSE I WOULD JUST REFORMAT THE DRIVE AND LOAD A FRESH OPERATING SYSTEM ON IT, BE SURE TO GO TO YOUR LAPTOPS WEBSITE AND DOWNLOAD ALL THE CORRECT DRIVERS FOR YOUR MODEL. IF YOU HAVE A SYSTEM RESTORE ON YOUR MENU YOU CAN ALSO DO THAT, AND IT WILL DRIVERS AND IT SHOULD RESTORE IT TO HOW IT WAS WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT.

Why is my acer aspire shutting down

If you're running Windows go into Control Panel and check Event Viewer. Look under Windows, System, and look at any Warnings (Yellow triangles with exclamation marks) If you're seeing error codes you can look those up; if "unexpected shutdown" shows up a lot your laptop could be overheating or it may be a power issue.

Unexpected shut down

Good chances this is a thermal shutdown. if this is the case, the computer is shutting off to protect itself from permanent damage. if your OS is old enough (Snow leopard, I think) then the system logs show what caused the shutdown. it will give a number. anything other than a 0 or a 1 are bad. if I recall correctly 1, 5, 13 are thermal shutdowns. Newer OS's don't seem to show these codes. and Apple does not publish their meanings.

Ms 7528ver1.0 rombios

Hello here is the msi homepage:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/G31M3-F--FSB-1600-.html#/?div=BIOS

You have to be sure its the right mainboard.
Flashing the bios with a wrong one will destroy the mainboard.
It does not have to be a bios problem you have.
The problem could be a faulty power supply, or a bad ram module.
Or simply the pc is shutting down, because of overheating/overclocking.
If you get the blue sreen of death, the harddrive could be the fault.
Try also to renew the cooling paste, between the cpu and the cooling element.
Clean also for dust.
It sometime will help to upgrade the bios, when the pc is unstable.
But do fix the power shutdown problem first.
If you upgrade the bios, and the the pc is shutting down while doing this, the mainboard is scrap.

Best of luck

The system has recoverd from a serious error

Does it continue to work normally? Sometimes if you shut-down a computer by pushing the on/off switch instead of going to the start menu and doing a suht down the computer will see it as a crash or if you computer shuts off for no ovious reason.

I'm using acer aspire 5920 ...it having problem once it is turn on it dont shutdown. i seen in some blog .there said update BIOS .i did it. it displays message automatically shutdown . But my friend...

If you show a Blue Screen, you have more problems then it not being able to turn off/shut down?? I would back out the battery so as to stop power from getting to it, AFTER you have it unplugged..then push battery back into to engage, plug the AC cord back into the PC. turn it back on and IF you still show a BLUE screen, you will need a tech to check it further...GOOD LUCK...

Windows shuts down unexpectedly, also Product Host not working

Restart the PC and if the problem persist check your RAM or any new hardware installation. Sometime you may need to Restore the System to the previous state.
