That depends on the ambient light and your own preferences. That's why there are different settings. Is the room dark or well-lit or something in between? Do you want the picture bright, or do you prefer it a little darker?

  • Anonymous Dec 29, 2011

The room itself is bright, and I also prefer a more bright picture

Then adjust the settings until you see what YOU like. Neither I nor anyone else can tell you exactly which settings to use because we're not you. The point I'm trying to make is that YOU have to decide what is "best." We can't tell you the "best" settings for your eyes any better than we can tell you the "best" brand of ice cream for your ******.

Best quality picture

This is likely a simple settings issue.

A lot of people don't realize that backlight settings can affect the picture.

Go to the menu (press menu on your remote)

The menu will show picture options. Just toy with different settings until you find what you want. It may be on a preset setting that doesn't work. If you are in a bright room, you will need to increase brightness and contrast and perhaps backlight.

Usually an unclear picture is due to the contrast, backlight, and brightness settings being too low. You can also increase sharpness.

I suggest a contrast setting of 70, a brightness setting of 60-80, and a backlight setting of above 80.

Good luck.,

What are the carb screw adjustments for a weed eater xt 85t trimmer set at

The two screws are marked 'H' and 'L' for high speed and idle/low speed running. You could start with the screws turned out about 1 1/2 turns each and then have to slowly adjust the 'L' screw to obtain aht ebest idling speed with the wngine warm. When you have the engine idling satisfactorily, open the throttle and adjust the 'H' screw to obtain the best high running condition. The settings will vary slightly from engine to engine depending on the engine condition, so it is basically a trial and error set up.

Not a clear picture

CRT projection televisions need periodic maintenance to maintain a clear picture. Typically, to maintain a sharp picture, they require cleaning and alignment every two or three years. If the television is being used in an environment where there is cigarette smoke or other smoke sources, the optics inside the television can become dirty and cause the picture to blur. Additionally, CRT focus and alignment wander over time, or physical CRT alignment can be knocked out if the set is bumped or dropped. All RCA CRT projection televisions have an "alignment" or "convergence" adjustment in their adjustment menus, which are fairly simple to use. The convergence feature is usually accessible from the main menu of the television. Check your User's Manual for the procedure to touch-up the convergence adjustment and see if you are able to achieve a sharper picture. If the optics in your set have not been cleaned for several years, or if it is in a smoky environment, the picture will be blurry and usually a brownish color, In any case, since the set is several years old at this point, it's likely due for a cleaning. This is best done by a technician, and mostly involves physical cleaning of internal lenses, the refractor mirror on the back of the chassis, and the back of the opaque display screen. An adjustment of CRT bias controls and individual CRT focus adjustments will bring further improvement in the image sharpness and clarity.

Seeing double characters lots of red orange and green red and green lines

The convergence is out. Re-align the convergence as required to centre the beams. The convergence yoke is a series of magnetic rings on the tube neck, and this yoke becomes loose over time, re-adjust it and if it has a locking clamp, which has unscrewed slightly, secure it. Otherwise use a little blob of nail polish on the rings between the tags to 'lock' the yoke in aligned position, and stop it from shifting; do NOT use superglue on this part.

The best way to re-adjust convergence on a set like this is to obtain a signal generator or generate some kind of crosshatch pattern (black background) - this way you can see the errors in the white lines clearly. You can try doing it with a normal picture, but a test card/crosshatch pattern is best for true convergence alignment. Place a mirror in front of the TV so you can sit behind it to see the adjustment.

Be careful when rotating these magnetic rings, as they also form part of your purity balance. Rotation of such rings, must be done SLOWLY and gradually until the lines appear white at a viewing distance of about 3 feet from screen or whichever satisfies you best; and you can switch back to normal pictures while doing this to see if it improves.

Don't panic if you cannot obtain a generator; these are expensive, so the cheapest option is to download or draw some test pattern pictures and make a disc of these. If you are careful, you can make adjustments like convergence with the set turned on but try not to touch the deflection yoke while active - it may bite you.

Good luck - remember, convergence is a simple task to correct in sets like this, because there are no complex components involved like ICs.

Setting resolution

Adjusting the resolution is done in Windows. Right click on the desktop and click on properties. Once that opens click on the Settings tab. There you will have a slider bar that you can adjust your resolution with. As far as being able to see things clearly on the monitor, the best picture is usually obtained simply by pushing the AUTO button.

Green tint I can't seem to fix

Hopefully someone on here has a manual and can tell you exactly where the tint controls are. Also need to try adjusting the color level, turn it clear down so you have a black and white picture.
Is the picture still green over the screen with the color control
set clear down to black and white? If it does, you might
have an issue with the green gun going out or problem in the
circuitry to it.

By the way, the best way to adjust the picture settings on a
tv are to first turn the color control clear down, then adjust
brightness and contrast for best black and white picture, then
bring up the color level to where it should be and adjust the
tint for best red/green ratio.

Lg 37in the picture cquality in hd is sometimes fuzzy

There is quite a lot you can do. Go to menu, picture settings and select user 1. From here you can adjust everything from colour to contrast to warmth to sharpness. The best thing to do is to swith to XD manual adjustment and make sure the mpeg noise reduction is set to max. This removes artifacts and gives a better picture. Oddly, connecting via SCART rather than HDMI will give a more watchable picture if the HD broadcast is't at a very high bit-rate. I hope that helps :o)

No picture

This type of problem may be caused by a dirty video head, people some time try to adjust tracking to take care of this problem this is a mistake. Now to clear up this issue first you put the tracking control mid way in its setting, then you clean the heads of the VCR you can use a head cleaning tape (follow the instructions on the cleaning tape box)for this or if you have experience you use a chamois swab type cleaner (follow the instructions on the package of swabs and liquid cleaner). one the heads are cleaned you acn then try to adjust track to obtain the best picture. If you can not you may have video head problems or a problem in the drum motor (servo) mechanism. In which case I advise taking the unit to a TV repair shop.
