How do you unregister a defective handset so that it can replaced

1. Delete or listen to all voice mail messages, if necessary, to clear the IN USE/Voice Mail light indicator.
Note: Skip this step if it does not apply to your MD Series cordless telephone model.
2. Press OFF on the base station and each handset.
3. Press and hold down PAGE on the base station until the IN USE light flashes slowly, then release.
4. Press and hold down PAGE again until the IN USE light begins to flash quickly, then release PAGE.
5. Quickly and fully press and release PAGE again.
6. Please register handset displays. Press OK to begin the registration process, or press EXIT.

I have a Tesco Cordless DECT phone model ARC201. Both handsets have come up with range out. I have switched off the phones, unplugged from wall etc. and then reconnected - and they remain the same. I've...

Maybe a little bit late, this is the solution for registering the handsets: hold the button on the base until it starts beeping, then, on the handset, go to the Register menu, select base number - in my case it's 2, then it will ask the PIN - the default is 0000, and that's it.

Can't register the handset

I have the GE 28811 series and to register mine you have to unregister it first then go to your phone setup menu and select register and it tells you to hold the base page button for 5 seconds then hit your program button on the phone and it registers it.hope that helps.

Deregister lost or broken phones

Some tricks from a helpful Uniden rep:

holding down end+# keys at the same time on the phone for about 10 secs (you will hear a beep) will deregister the handset. If you have a dead handset and want to deregister it from the base, you have to reset the base. unplug the phoneline and power. hold down the "delete message" key, plug power back in. about 10 secs later, you will hear a long beep (theres a short beep upon powerup as well). At this point all handsets are deregistred and you will have to reregister them with the end+# trick. this way when #1 handset is dead, you can make a working one #1 and get the broken one fixed emotion-1.gif

BTW, this is a woot warranty, not uniden warranty. however the uniden rep gave me the number to the people who refurb (rox0rz!) these. I'll post an update when I finally get ahold of them (and the number if its actually helpful)

Phillips dect2152

If you bought the base and handset together they should already be registered. If not then the instruction manual is downloadable here: MANUAL

The relevant section is on page 16 - here is a copy:

4 handsets can be registered to the base station. A handset
can only be associated with 1 base station.
 To register another handset
First enter registration mode by unplugging and
plugging back in the power adapter to the
electricity supply.
Handsets registering / unregistering ( )
To unregister the handset you use
enter the RC code*
To unregister all the handsets (except the handset you are using)
enter the RC code*
Once the menu is selected, enter the RC* code written under the base and press
to confirm.
Warning : If you wish to associate a non-Philips handset to the DECT 211 or DECT 215 base
stations, make sure that these handsets are GAP compliant otherwise they will not operate properly.
*RC code
(Registration
Code) is
written under
the base.
Warning : Once unregistered, the handset is no longer operational.

How to REregister handsets

You can unregister your phone without being in the cradle, but to re-register them, just put them back in the cradle.  After being unregistered, they will automatically re-register once they are put back in the cradle of the main base.  Try setting them back in the base cradle to re-register, and hopefully that will work for you.

Registering a new phone

With a little searching I was not able to confirm this phone could handle more than one cordless handset. Are you replacing a defective handset or trying to add a second. If adding, do you know if it can handle the second unit (is it advertised on the box, in the user guide, etc?) If replacing, you most likely have to de-register the old handset on the base unit before you can register a new one. If you are adding, try de-registering the working handset anyway and registering the new one. If the new one registers and you cannot re-register the once working phone you will know either the system cannot handle two phones or (if the new one will not register but you can again re-register the original) that the new handset has a problem and should be returned.
