Are the games playing at all? There is a home page you can scroll around and get to whatever game you have in the machine, make sure you have the 3ds slider to the top. Its on the right bottom side of the top screen.
Far as i knew, currently, there havnt any cards can support pokemon x/y,inclued gateway 3ds and mt-card,and all 3ds game cards can just support run 3ds games on N3DS/XL v4.1-4.5. IF YOU ARE AROUND A WIFI AREA YOU SHOULD HAVE INTERNET AND BE ABLE TO DOWN LOUD ANY GAME, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE MANUAL ON HOW TO SWITCH WIFI ON!!!!!!!!!! IF THAT DOESN'T WORK TAKE IT TO ANY GAME STOP.
It means the Nintendo 3DS console can't find the R4 3DS card in it's slot-1. Mostly, it is caused by the bad connection of R4 card and 3DS console. Try to clean the kingfinger part of the r4 3ds card with cloth, and make it connect well with 3DS console. If problem still on, the R4 3DS card must be broken.
If it happens with every game, it's probably the connectors on your 3ds itself, consider going back to the shop, asking for a replacement unit. If it's just a particular game, find a soft cleaning wipe, and gently clean the connectors on the game itself, slightly wetting the cleaning wipe. Be sure to let it dry before you put it in your 3ds!
The 3DS basically, can already connect to the internet as long as you have connection to WiFi. But if you want to browse using your 3DS, Do these: System Settings > Other Settings > Tap on 4 > System Update > Enter your PIN code > Tap on OK when you have internet connection > I Accept > Plug AC adapter (Optional) > Wait.
After waiting, You'll get the Nintendo eShop and the Internet browser.
