My webcam is used by another application, so, it does not work at all. Everything was fine, till my kid got her hands on... Any suggestions?

Lifecam was fine for XP & Vista but not for windows 7 or 8 so if you're using the newer widows I suggest buying a Logitech 9000 or better, they work with everything. If not this might point you in the right direction, you med the drivers for your version of the camera e.g. 2.1, 3.0, 3000

Right click my computer, go to Manage, then to Services and Applications, then to services. Scroll down till you find the application that is using your webcam double click it go to the drop down box click on it and choose Disable then click Apply. then you can choose to stop the program immediately or just exit out of all this and restart your computer this will prevent that program from starting when windows starts. The way you were doing it is as you know only temporary. Hope this helps and good luck.

Check if you have any programs running that could be using/locking your webcam. Just close everything you don't need.
If that does not help, you can also try a webcam sharing application, like SplitCam. That makes your webcam available to multiple programs, so never a sharing issue.

Get microsoft online then,ask them about your webcam problem.

The problem was being caused by the wireless USB adaptor. When I disconnected the adaptor the webcam picture came good. I plugged the adaptor into a different USB port on the machine and no interference. I don't have any explanation for why on one USB port I get the interference and on another I don't get any interference. I am happy to live with it like it is if it works.

Try using "SplitCam", can solve problems with a lot of webcams. It basically acts as an interface between your webcam and applications using it.

I need more information. Which operating system are you running, what computer do you have? Did the sound ever work, and if so, what did you install that stopped it from working?

i suggest you uninstall previous driver. Then restart your pc and re-install again your web cd driver then re start pc again
