Nearly ever manual is available online, but 22 litre is a size not a model number. My search query is pointing to Dishwashers with water softeners. The search query is 'make model manual', nothing else.
Hard water is the most likely cause. They really shorten the life of taps washers shower units dishwashers etc.just ended up installing a water softener unit in France due to this reason.if you do opt for a water softener unit remember that you can still run a cold water supply into the kitchen from pipe before the unit.its that or get used to replacing everything after two to three years.
check that the small hose to the pickup in the salt tank is not blocked or loose allowing air into the unit rather than the salt water. IT runs on a venturi effect so any air leaks will not allow the water to be picked up. Download the operating manual for the unit as it has a detailed operation including fault finding and over hauling of the unit.
Hi sotickledpin - The softener requires two valves to open to dispense: the bleach valve and the wash valve. If one fails, it will not fill the softener compartment. If there isn't any cold water supplied to the unit, it will not rinse the softener. Possibly the washer may have a faulty water valve or an incorrect water supply to the unit. Also, if the softener dispenser cap is not installed properly, that can cause it to not rinse out as well. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I personally recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.
To try and answer your question I will assume firstly that 'in service' means in normal operating mode - not in re-generation.
All water softeners have a limited throughput of water. In other words the volume of water that can pass through the system and be softened in the process is limited by the size of the vessel. If water passes through at too fast a rate then there would not be sufficient time for the water to undergo the ion exchange process that softens the water. Therefore the softener constricts the flow to a level which provides satisfactory operation.
If your plumbing system is taking water directly through the softener then the pressure will be limited by the maximum throughput of the softener. The only way to solve this is to install a higher capacity softener or, as is common in the UK, to feed a cold water storage tank from the softener so that pressure is not affected.
If you mean that 'in service' is when the device is re-generating, then the problem is a different one. When the device re-generates, it switches the water flow to bypass the softener within the unit. Therefore the pressure should not be affected unless the bypass is partially constricted. This bypass valve is an integral part of the softener valve assembly, so this would have to be checked by a competent service engineer.
If you can provide additional information by posting a comment I will do my best to help further. If you do so please identify the brand and model of your softener and try to describe how it is plumbed in to your supply.
If you don't put salt in the appliance then the regeneration crystals will clump together over time and solidify. This will cause a restriction in the softener unit. If you stopped using it and then started again you may find that the impurities caught by the crystals have simply found their way into the appliance. You can set the softener to be at minimum setting if you are in a soft water area.
The salt isn't used to soften the water, it's used to clean the crystals in the water softener unit. Why Do I Need to Use Salt in my Dishwasher? Salt is needed to ensure that your dishwasher's in-built water softener gives an optimum performance. You will especially need to use dishwasher specific salt if you live in a hard water area. You can purchase one of our Aqua test strips (part number 180876) to determine the hardness of your water from our parts and accessories store or call us on 08448 225 225 . Manually drain the floor of the machine, put in salt, and check out. open the salt container at the bottom, and it will be full up with water, and it really will smell bad. clean it and add salt near to 1kg. then run run a prewash cycle and then check out does the salt error is coming up.if yes then more salt needs to be added. This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively.thank you for using fixya
Softener dispensers are a "Hot or Cold" sort of proposition. Meaning they work or they don't. Each make is different as to where the water comes in at. Your best bet would be to contact a technician to come out and do a THOROUGH test of the machine.
