Hello
Check the impedence of the connected speakers. if any impedence mismatch is there, the amp will sense it and will cuto the output OFF. Use only specified speakers only. The impedence of speakres are expressed in "Ohms". Select all speakers of same impedence. If 6 Ohms is the output impedence of the amp, use only that Ohms speaker. Never use a speaker less that this Ohms. You can use a higher impedence speaker, say 8 Ohs or 16Ohms. But never use lower impedence speakers, of connect two speakers in parellel connection, which will relult in overloading. I think that I've made a satisfactory solution to you. Please don't hesitate to rate this solution. Good luck
Wish you a Merry X'mas and Happy 2012.

Hi jimmyjames, How do you have the wires hooked from the sony reciever to the inputs on the mtx? Sounds like your Remote wire is way too big. it should be 14 guage. It only sends a low voltage low amp signal. Another thing that could be messing up the sounds is the routing of the wires. you should have the power supply wires separate from the Audiop signal wiring. Power should run down the Driver side and Audio down the passenger side. When you answer I may be able to tell you more.

When you bridge amp they some time double in power output into a certain load. If the actual load of your speakers are lower than the required bridged load the out put of the amp will proportionally try to increase again. You have to match your loads to the specs of your amp. Use your manual to see what is required, then use ohms law, for adding resistors in series/parallel to make your speaker load match. For more info please reply.

if the lights on and there is no sound it's either a cd player issue or your rca issue or the inputs for rca's on the amp are no good. or you have your subs wired at a wrong load to your amp and it is in a constant protection to avoid burning up.

sounds like your speakers are "clipping" drawing more power than the head unit or amp can handle. Or the speaker coil is damaged. Turn off amp and slowly raise the volume, and see if it still does the same
