Garage door will open from remote or car; however, it will not close using these controls. The only way I can close the garage door is to press on the manual control inside the garage until it is completely close; otherwise, it will stop as soon as I quit pressing. It is the Chamberlain Liftmaster Professional Formula I model
Just wanting to post a notice that if you bought one of the new little personal humidifiers the ultrasonic wave (RF) from it will cancel out your Internet and your garage door opener. I've been working on mine for weeks to figure out why the garage doors were working intermittently internet too almost purchased new openers. Walked in looked down at that unit turned it off and everything worked fine. I normally use is just for traveling but since the Christmas break it's been running in my room... Hope I helped. Mike
This is an interesting problem and I have seen this before. When you open your garage door using the remote or the inside button, the door will come up and the lamp/s inside the motor housing will light up. The lamp was originally intended to be an incandescent device which electrically exhibits a resistive load to the circuitry. If this lamp was replaced by a compact fluorescent lamp, the power supply circuitry inside the lamp will cause electrical interference which can jam the RF receiver causing the opener to not respond to the remote command to close the door. When you push the wired control, the problem does not present itself so it will work. Alternatively, if you open the door with your remote, you won't be able to close it while the lamp is on. To test this theory, just wait until the lamp times out and see if the remote works again.
If this proves to be the case, try an incandescent lamp or LED lamp of the non-dimmable variety. The LED may or may not work for the same reason, but a non-dimmable version has less noise. Some "corn" type LED lamps have reactive supplies and won't have any noise but are hard to find nowadays. I have found them at Costco in the past.
I hope this fixes your problem.
Something could be blocking the electric eye.they are down at ground level on both sides of the door
