SOURCE: why cant i install blitzkreig

try installing your game in compatibility mode.
Running from a disc:
right click on disc>open>(find the installer for the game usually installer.exe)>right click on the installer>properties>compatibility tab>(click the box to run in compatibility mode and try running your software with XP SP3).
If you are installing from a file then just follow the same steps, find the installer in the downloaded folder...............

SOURCE: Is there a driver/file available

If it's a DOS based game (which I believe it is based on what I'm reading), you'll need to install a DOS emulator. I believe DosBox http://www.dosbox.com/ is popular, but there are a few others if you search around.

I purchased Egames Lexicon. When I try to install it a message appears that says it cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit version of Windows. How can I get this software to work on my...

Right click on the executable file that starts the setup, typically setup.exe. Select Properties. Under Compatibility, set it to Windows XP SP3. If that doesn't work, it really won't work without you setting up a virtual machine and installing a copy of XP. If you're running Windows 7, you can download a Windows XP virtual machine to run. It's called XP Mode. Instructions can be found by searching for XP Mode in the Start menu's Help and Support.

I dont know how to run cossacks eur. wars on win7....how?

Windows Vista or Windows 7, will have problems running some older versions of applications, just because so much has changed under the hood from Windows XP days. Thankfully there is a compatibility mode that can be easily set per application.

To configure the compatibility mode for an application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu. THEN select your compatibility tab, You can choose to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, or even all the way back to Windows 95 compatibility.

Probably the most useful setting to start off with would be to disable the visual themes and desktop composition, if you can't get things working. If you are trying to run a video game, you will often need to choose "Run this program as an administrator". You'll have to play around with it, but most likely you can get your application working this way. Also, you will be able to make a selection for windows VISTA which is backwards and forwards compatible with WINDOWS 7

I wanted 18 wheels of steel haulin' on my comp and was wondering if it worked on windows 7

Hello suttonplaya3, The game may work natively on Windows 7. If not you could try to run it using Windows XP compatability mode in Win7. To change the mode to XP do the following:
  • Right click the games icon
  • Select Properties
  • Select the compatibility tab
  • Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode" box
  • From the drop down menu select Windows XP
  • Click Apply then Ok
  • Try running the program again.
The compatibility mode has helped me play some of my classic games in the past. Post a reply with any issues or please rate this solution if you found it helpful. Thanks, Edward

Atari Scrabble Complete has been playing well on XP for years. New computer has Windows 7 and Scrabble freezes when it begins loading. I also have BitDefender Anti-Virus installed but it does not seem to...

Unfortunately not all games will work with newer versions of Windows even with the compatibility modes. Atari Scrabble is an older game, and Atari stopped providing updates for the game some time ago. At this point your best bet is to find a version of Scrabble that is compatible with Windows 7. Microsoft has a Windows 7 Compatibility page on their site. The website address that is below lists another companies version of Scrabble that will work with Windows 7. Check out your local PC game retailers or the Internet to find and purchase a copy or search to see if there are other versions that will work with Windows 7.
