Hp 6500a plus printhead won't print

The Yellow and Blue printheads on my HP Officejet6500a Plus will not print at all, although they did in the beginning. Ink cartridges have been replaced, printheads cleaned both automatically and manually. Red and Black printheads both work.

Hi,
As you said that you have already cleaned the print heads it could be the contacts inside the printer has gone bad. Its suggested by HP that if you get any error regarding the print head you should contact them and they will replace the printer. Please do so. Thanks.

How to open and replace the ink cartridge from my 6500a plus

Simple, turn on your HP OJ 6500A printer and open top cover...carriage should move to cartridge access position. If not, then the service station may be in the way or the PRINTHEAD assembly is not properly locked down causing an error condition. Power supply could also cause this kind of failure.

For information on North American ink refill services (i.e. HP920 and HP920XL ink cartridges) at a major retailer near you (should you wish to save ~50% on ink costs), general printing problem resolutions or advanced HP Officejet 6500, 6500A, 6500A Plus, 7000 and 7500A printer diagnosis procedures (advanced cartridge diagnostic tests/cartridge error bypass & printer reset methods, etc.), please visit Inkjet411: http://www.inkjet411.com

HP Officejet 6500A - frequent print head clogs

INK PROBLEM
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Officejet 6500 color balance

On HP 6500 printers, remove screen and try heating the connection elemants with hair dryer or something similar. Nothing to hot. The led bars should restore. Here's a link on how to remove HP 6500. Do same for 6500A model, but screen is a bit different, so check out the other video for HP 6500A and 6500A plus printers:

HP photosmart B210 wont print black

Seems to be a common problem - I had it too. I spent a lot of time looking, but never quite found a consistent fix. I fixed mine in a few steps: First, I removed all the cartridges, and cleaned the filters on the top of the printhead (these are the little screens you see when you look at the tray with the cartridges removed). To do this I blotted each screen with premoistened alcohol wipes, changing wipes frequently, until the wipes were clean. I then removed the printhead by lifting the black handle on the right side, and lifting the printhead straight up. I used alcohol pads on the rear contacts (refer to HP's instructions for changing printheads) in a downward motion only. Finally, I cleaned

I have a HP Designjet100 Plus. The black went from ok to light to nothing. I have cleaned the printer head manually and thru the maintainance setting on the machine. Any suggestions? Do i need to buy a new...

You can try to disassemble the printhead and check for contamination.
First remove cap 1
xamazedx_0.jpg
than using a small flat screwdriver disassemble printhead (engagement points 2 and 3)

xamazedx_1.jpg

Warning - a printhead is filled with 8 ml ink

After disassembly - clean the printhead with fluid compatible with pigment ink (for black color) or compatible with water based ink (color printheads)

during reassembly - don't forget to fill the printhead with ink (2/3 of its volume)

HP Officejet K850 pro prints black ok, but colors are poor

I read earlier that black and magenta were printing but not cyan or yellow.....HP says to gently wipe the side of the electronic band but not the bottom, I did all of the above...and the printheads carefully, no change w/ the printout from "clean printheads"...the cyan had an occasional blue line(very fine) and there was no yellow.

So I trickled warm water over the cyan and yellow printheads....then thought what the heck, got a bowl of warm water and swished the printheads half submerged. They print perfect now I have the reds, yellows, greens and all the colors back w/ the clean printhead option and printed a coupon, it was perfect.

I hope it's not a short term fix...I developed the problem when I didn't print for a long time, hope this helps someone, Cyn

BTW, I flashed a light down in the recepticle for the cyan and yellow printheads and they were gunky w/ blue and yellow gook, so I clean that out w/ a damp lint free rag....paper towels shredded and I had to carefully remove the remnants.
