It is possible that the battery is at the end of its life. You can tell that your battery is in poor condition by the amount of pictures/movies that you can take with one charge is going down considerably.

Not necessarily, but if the outside is that weathered I would worry about the state of the rubber seals. In other words I wouldn't try it unless you are willing to get a new one. But it won't shock you or anything.

One problem with many point&shoot cameras is that they expect you to point and shoot, without fiddling with things like aperture and shutter speed. This camera doesn't give you any direct control over the aperture, which is restricted to a range of less than one full f/stop in any case. About the best you can do is to select the Portrait or Sport mode when you want a wide aperture and the Landscape mode when you want a small aperture.

U need to unplug unit and turn on its back replace filter . blow out. sounds like its getting hot and dusty. u need to clean before u burn out your optical engine like i did.

Date and time stamp and only comes when you are shotting and your camera support this faction. When After shotting, the time stamp won't be removed from or add to your pictures by your camera. And it's sorry for that, this Fujifilm JV100 doesn't support this faction

Before putting the memory card in, make sure that the write-protect switch on the card is switched to unlock position. Once memory card is inserted, format the card using the camera. The format option is found under the set up menu.
