I can't shut my Minolta maxxum 300si off. How do I clean or repair the On/Off switch?

On SLR cameras the filters are attached to the end of the lens via threads inside the end of the lens barrel. Without knowing exactly what lens you are using I can't tell you what filter diameter you need but most lenses list that information on the inside rim of the front of the lens. I hope this helps!

You will have to open the back and may lose a roll of film, but it will be an easy way to check the camera for a possible mis-load of the film.
