You may have a bad lamp. There is an access door to the lamp usually on the back of the set or behind the front grill in some models. Pull the lamp and housing out sometimes held by screw(s) and look at it to see if the glass is shattered inside the lamp. Also look for cloudy effect in the lamp or bubbling of the glass at the base of the center glass stem in the middle of the lamp. If it is bad you will have to have the part number from the lamp or the model number of the tv and go to www.pureglare.com for price and availability.
If its not the light bulb is there anything else i could look at. Cause the red light on the t.v flashing 3 times and then stays red. so if i check the light bulbs and that is not the cause, do you have idea what else that could be causing the problem.

Is the fan coming on? It could possibly be clogged with dust. It is difficult to determine what is wrong without the model number but I will try my best. Just keep in touch. I was not on the during the day today. And if you did get the lamp out you have to be sure it is plugged in all the way and the lamp door is in right. Could you give me another description of the problem to help figure what is wrong please.
When it first turned off it was just like you had turned off buy remote, but no one had the remote. And then we try'd to turn it on again and the red light will not turn green and it flash 3 times then stays red. And its a 61" Thomson Scenium and it has three light bulb under the screen in between the speakers i hope that will give you some idea. Thank you so much.
Now that you mentioned it has 3 tubes that is different. And when the light flashes 3 times that only means a bad flyback transformer. It is the black component with the large red wire coming out of it and going back into the set. It requires experience to change it (unsoldering and soldering). And the last time I tried to get a flyback it was difficult to find as RCA started discontinuing these. But you might try getting all the numbers from off the flyback and call MCM electronics or Encompass Parts. Encompass number is 1-800-638-3328. You will need the proper model number from off the back of the set for them to see if they have it anymore. I hope this helps
