My 2 door True Sandwich prep unit keeps freezing up inside at the top of the unit, freezing the back middle row of my ingredients. We have it turned all the way down to the lowest setting. Why is it so cold?

SOURCE: turbo air sandwich table too cold

Replace the thermostat which is located on the back of the unit underneath the bins in the very back. If the thermostat goes bad it will let everything just run and run and run. If this has been helpful please rate

Look for doors not properly closing, poor air flow over coil or something blocking air flow, improper freon level.

True prep table leaking water.

The drain tube that drains out the water is plugged. It runs from inside the cabinet to under the refrigeration unit outside the cabinet. Try to clean it out with a can of compressed air used to clean keyboards and see of that works.

Coils freeze

Either your coil is blocked with paper or wrap, or you have a refrigerant leak in the coil and the little bit of gas that's left is flashing as it enters the coil. Make sure that the cooling coil and condenser is clear and the fans are running. That's all you can do without refrigeration tools. Good luck and hope this helps

Freezing

Keep the prep top table pans covered when not in use. Never leave empty holes where pans should be. If the pans are empty put a couple of inches of water in them to keep some heat load there. Check the door gaskets and door seal on the base doors. Make sure the thermostat is set on number 5. If all of this checks out probably need a new thermostat, but if it's erratic I suspect you will find it's one of the former problems.

What kind of noise? Where is the noise coming from? Inside the unit or where the compressor is?

Why is the unit freezing? It is a TRUE TSSU-60-16.

Turn down the temp and move produce item closer to the front. The air exits the evaporator at around 28 degrees. Possible you need a thermostat.

My pizza prep-table freezes everything. I think it might be the thermostat. Could I be right

Hi

Sounds like you are correct, unless the door seals are not in good order, air leaking in can fool the thermostat.

If it has a top section that the pans for pizza ingredients sit in check that the airways are clear and that the tins and lids fit properly.

Why is there water pooling in my sandwich make up table? My reach in cooler, also?

During the cooling/freezing cycle condensation forms, this drips into a pan and then is evaporated by a heating element.
One of two things could be wrong.....
Your drip pan is clogged
or
your evaporator unit is bad

Hope this helps

Salad prep cooler too cold I turn the t-stat up or down compressor still running I think the t-stat is bad don't you think?

It sounds like the thermostat is "stuck closed". Try unplugging the cooler, MAKE SURE ALL POWER HAS BEEN DISCONECTED. Remove thermostat cover with thermostat on it. Carefully pull one of the wires spade connectors off the thermostat. Insulate the end of the wire you disconected with electrical tape. Now plug the cooler back in. If the compressor stays off the thermostat is the problem. Let me know if that helps. I know of a common replacement cold controll for that unit:)
