Whirlpool Range model RF386PXGQ2 broiler won't shut off

Since none of the burners or elements will heat, I recommend that you shut off the house circuit breakers for the range. Your symptoms point to a voltage supply problem. The range should have a double breaker (the two circuit breakers are probably connected together with a metal clip). The range clock control will light up if only one leg (L1) of that power supply is provided to the range. If the second leg of power (L2) is missing, then none of the burners or oven elements will heat. You could have a problem with the circuit breakers or the wiring on the terminal block at the back of the range. With the breakers shut off , I recommend that you pull the range out and check the wiring on that terminal block. Based on your description, you may find a loose connection or burnt wiring in that area. The image below shows wiring information for the terminal block and the junction box for the range. This information should help you check that issue. If you can find a wiring failure and restore a proper voltage supply to the range, then the stove top burners and oven elements should heat properly.If you find no problems with the wiring, then you could have a bad circuit breaker or a problem with the house voltage supply for the range. either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

Stoves are wired for 220 volt, but the range top will operate on 110 volt so your Breaker should be a single 220 volt breaker but can be achieved using two 110 volt breakers if one of the breakers blow the range top may still operate but the oven will not. So my suggestion is to Check your breakers to see if you are operating on two 110 volt breakers and one is possibly tripped.

no question you have a short in electrical . you do need a tec to ck this out . unless you have electrical expertise . it sounds like control panel or shorted( melted wiring ) mm

Some gas ranges may take 10 or so minutes to light.
Other than that you may have a defective glow bar ignitor.
If it glows and does not light the reistance in the ignitior has failed.

I would say to go and reset your curciut breaker first if this is a electric oven. needs 220 volts for both element to work

The broiler won't turn off even when you press the "Off/cancel" button? It sounds like the broiler control relay is stuck shut. The F3 code means the oven temperature sensor has failed, this probably happened because the oven got too hot when the broiler was stuck on. There is fail-safe thermal fuse that will blow if the oven gets too hot, so the oven won't melt down but you should leave the unit off so you don't blow the fuse.

To fix the relay, you will have to replace the oven control module. I think this is about $200 and not too hard to replace if you are somewhat handy. The temperature sensor is also serviceable, you can find parts at Appliance Parts Pros on the web. Hopefully you haven't thrown the range out yet, let me know if you need further assistance.
