I have lost the security code and have a new laptop, how do i set it up to work

Hi!

If you don't remeber the wireless security code, maybe you still remeber the user and password to access the web management interface of the router.
Then you have to connect the laptop to the router by using a network cable. Open a browser window, type in the IP adress of your router and check the wireless setup section. There you can find / modify the wifi security code.

If you don't know the router's IP adress, then open on your computer a ms-dos prompt and type the command
ipconfig /all

it will display your current IP adress, subnet mask and GATEWAY. The gateway adress is the router's IP adress that must be typed into the browser.

If you don't remember the user and password for accessing the router's web interface, please refer to the router's user manual in order to reset it to factory default configuration, and then proceed as for the first installation of the router.

Hope it helped,

Bogdan

I am trying to connect Netflix to my Wii and I keep getting error code 51330 and 51331. I don't know what these errors are. I am trying to set up with wireless internet.

From Nintendo:
Error Code 51330, 51331, and 51332
It appears that the wireless security pass code for your home network may have been changed or is entered incorrectly on the Wii console. Click here for more information about WEP and WPA security, including how to access the settings for your Access Point.
If your wireless network password isn't wrong, reply. Hope this helps somewhat.

Netflix streaming worked until I connected my tablet to my wireless router and put in a pass word. Now wii will not connect to internet. Error code 51331

hello... this problem is quite simple to fix... follow this step by step:

Power on your Wii console and press the A Button on the Wii Remote to reach the Wii main menu. Use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button.

Now, select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.

Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."

Select "Connection 1: None"

(Don't see "None" in Connection 1? Click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings.")

Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point."

(Are you using a wired Internet connection to your Wii console? If so, click here for specific help.)

Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.

Select the wireless network that is yours.

(If you're not sure which is yours, or you don't see any wireless networks, click here.)

Asked to enter a security key?

If you are prompted to "Enter the Password or Key," then the wireless network you are trying to connect to has wireless security turned on. You will need to type in your security key or password and select "OK."

Don't know your router's security key?

Let us help you find your router's security key. Select the brand of your router below and we'll provide you with the default information for that brand!

Linksys Netgear DLink

Belkin Apple 2Wire

All other brands

Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."

The Wii console will run a connection test with your wireless network when the test is completed. You should see the following screen:

As long as you see "The connection test was successful," the "Wii Support Code" does not matter and can be ignored

The connection test was successful - Then you're almost done! After your connection test, the Wii console will check if there is a new Wii System Update available. Once you select "Yes" and "I Accept," the Wii will begin to download any available updates. Click here to find out what's next!

The connection test was not successful - If the test was not successful, you will receive an error code.

Error Code 51330 or 52130: This means the security code you entered into the Wii is not the same one your router is set to. Look in your router's settings and try again. Please refer to step seven (7) above for more information.

All other error codes: Try our error code troubleshooting where we have detailed information on many common error codes. (You can ignore any "Wii Support Code" you receive on a connection test.)

Trying to connect nintendo but i have no idea what the security code is

If you are trying to connect to a wireless connection with your nintendo system and are being asked for the security code you can do a few things to find it out. If you already have a computer hooked up to this internet connection (wirelessly or wired) then open up a brower on that computer. In the address bar at the top (where you type "www.") type in 192.168.1.1 and it should prompt you for a username and password. The default for these are both "admin". Once you clear the security you should be taken to an internet settings screen. Search for the tab that says "WEP key" and click it. The WEP key is your internet security code. If there are multiple WEP keys, any of the options will work. Type in one of the options when prompted for the security code on your nintendo console and you should be good to go! If this doesn't work, you should contact either nintendo for help or your internet service provider for the security code. Let me know if you need anything else!

I purchased a new laptop,,and when Itried to connect to the internet wirelessly it recognized my router, but asked for security code. I don,t know what my code is.

if you don't know your security code, then you will need to reset the router (Use the reset button on the back) then you should be able to connect wireless unsecured. from that point you can type the default gateway IP address (192.168.1.1) in the address line of internet explorer, this will open the web interface of the router (Leave username blank, admin for password) then you can re-enable wireless security and pick a new code (I recommend an old 10 digit phone number you can easily remember but hard for others to guess)
