When you turn the tv on it go right back off Mitsubishi WS-55511 55 in. It about (5)yrs old I have try unplugging the tv for about 3 to 5 minute

Do this: When you turn it on and the green power light comes on and goes off:

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both.

This model has a self check: The green power light will then blink a two digit error code: most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause and repeat the error code at least 5 times.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.

I hope you get 2,2 as it is the most easy to resolve.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I go to turn it on and it sizzles and shuts itself off.

Replace the flyback. You need the 259296 flyback replacement kit which has the flyback related capacitors and the CD with detailed instructions. The kit is available at www.tvrepairworld.com

When I power up, 5 seconds later this back projector TV turns itself off

t does sound like a bulb problem, either its over heating and shutting off to protect itself, or its already shot. Give a TV repair shop a call and see if they can give you an approximate price, then decide to ditch or repair it.

SD533HD% Rear Projection TV wont turn on

You may need the power supply board resoldered as I had the same problem. The guy listed below can do it for you as I shipped mine from Illinois to him in California... Piece of cake getting the board out of the back and it's not too fraigile... Just pack in bubble wrap and it will be fine. My TV is now working great.

BUT DON'T DELAY AS SOONER LATER TV WILL NOT RESTART..

TV shuts off seconds after being turned on

This is actually a common problem with this unit and one that Pioneer is aware of... Over time the feed resistors in the convergence circuit change in value and the convergence ICs begin to fail, placing more of a load on the power supply than necessary and stressing components in the SMPS. The fix; Pioneer recommends upgrading the convergence IC's from STK392-110 to STK392-180, change all resistors in the convergence circuit that have changed in value and replace the power supply to repair the unit.

TV turns on then right back off

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. Very possibly an electrolytic capacitor gone bad. You'll need to work on that, and then readjust the set. Not a major repair. good luck
