I am trying to get my password for my yahoo account and i get to the security question and the answer is toby which was my childhood pet but it says it's the wrong answer not sure what to do need to access my account again my alternate email address is [email protected] please let me know what i can do.

You may try the option "forgot password" and receive the solution for Password. Security question cannot be changed.

Go to the link provided to reset your password. Make sure to choose "Forgot my password" and go through this program they have set up to get a new password. It may ask you the question such as "Where was your father born" or "What was your first pet's name" or whichever question like that you chose to answer when you setup your account.

You can still retrieve your yahoo mail even without an alternate email address by going to this page https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot/
Select "Forgot my Password" and just follow the instructions given. You have to remember the answer to the security questions yahoo mail asked you when you sign up an account (like " Name of your pet", etc)
After the security questions, you can now create a new password. Good luck!

Hello. This is simply yahoo's attempt to keep your account secure. I recommend that you develop a system to write down this information in a safe and secure place so that you do not have this as a reoccurring issue. You will have to call yahoo from your home phone or contact them from your computer to reestablish a password and a security name. J.

SOMETIMES This happens because somebody tried to make a large amount of attempts to guess your password and enter your account. I've run into the same problem b4. Now, I keep detailed records of all my web mail accounts - including the registration information I used for each one of them. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way. I sure as hec did! :P
