Printer does not turn on at all - No lights - No Power.
Check if the power cord is good ( a tester is need to do this). If is good the problem maybe is the main board.Main boards are expensive if you consider that there's a lot offer with good prices.
HP makes a couple of different power cords for the PSC 1210 and their other printers. First make sure you are using the correct power cord (Amperage and voltage). Unplug the power cord (from the wall and the printer and from a power module if you have one). Leave all of the sections unplugged for at least 15 seconds to reset the power module/printer.
Next connect the power cord to the wall outlet and to the power module if present and check if the LED (if present lights up). If it doesn't try another outlet. In either case, check what the outlet voltage/amperage is at the end of the power cord with a multimeter (before you plug it into the printer). If you have a power module, then check the Amperage (it will be a DC current out).
If you are not getting the correct voltage and amperage out or the LED doesn't light (with a known good outlet), try a different power cord/module.
You can order these from HP.
If you have the correct power at the cord, plug the power cord into the printer and attempt to turn it on. (Press and release the power button.) If the printer still doesn't come on, the unit needs service. Contact HP if the printer is under warranty. Decide if it is worth fixing if it is out of warranty.
I hope this helps.

(I've had to use the HP Repair/Replacement service after a unit was in a home that was hit by lightning. Due to printer availability, an HP gift card was provided to buy a new printer.)
Hi CIndy:
Thank you. If I go buy a mulitmeter at Home Depot and plug cord in wall and test the end what should the voltage and amps read??

You'll need to check your power module and printer. On the module, there will be a label with the voltage and the amperage. The printer should also have the same numbers near the power cord connection. (The label on the printer is usually hard to read since it is part of the molded plastic housing.) I suggest rubbing the lettering with a contrasting piece of chalk to enhance them.
I know that the power module for both the HP Deskjet 3050 and 1050 gave 32 V out with an amperage of 2000mA (as I recall). I'm not absolutely certain if the PSC 1210 uses the same specs. Seehttp://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum... (mind the long URL) for pictures of where the voltage labels are on HP printers and modules. You'll have to scroll down a bit to see the pictures in question; they are below the pictures of a sample HP power cord and power module.
I hope this helps.

The 1210 is a very old model (in computer age!) so it might not work with the EEE range, especially if you are runnning linux - you could look for linux divers in google if the EEE is running linux. If it is running windows I don't know why it wouldn't load the software as normal

Hi Cindy:
I will try that. Do you know anything about cameras or where I can look it up? Or maybe an expert who knows cameras??I need to take apart my Kodak Digital Easyshare C182 to install a new battery door.
Thanks So Much,
Tony
Good luck with your printer.
I've never taken apart a digital camera. Your best bet would be to post your Easyshare C182 question as a new question on Fixya in the camera section. This will make sure the camera experts see it and they may be able to give you a solution.

Hi Cindy:
I am very new to Fixya. How do I post to an expert in the "camera section"?
Thanks so much.
Tony,
To ask a new question, click on the Ask a Question link at the bottom of the Fixya page. It's the first link under Quick Links. Then type in your question and on the next line (Which product?) fill in Kodak EasyShare C182. A drop-down menu will show up with Kodak Cameras after you type part of the product name to let you choose your model. Make sure to click on the correct camera in the drop-down menu. Then add more details farther down the page and click Continue to post your question.
It's not much different from how you posted your question about the HP PSC 1210 question to be answered by Fixya Experts.
