When I first installed the he220 it worked fine. Furnace kicks on and the solenoid will click off and on. You could heaar the water running through and the pad would get wet. Had it set on 45% and my humidity gauge in the house read 45%. About a month after installation I noticed humidity level in house down between 30-35%. I checked and even though the humistat was set a 45% and humidity in house 35% the solenoid wwas not clicking on and off and the drain tube was dry. I messed with the humistat dial and turned it up to 60% and it clikcks off and on a bit(not has much as it used too) sometimes real short clicks. Once the furance kicks off, but the fan continues to run for a couple of minutes, then the unit starts clicking off and on a lot and for longer periods of time and allowing a lot of water through??? My unit is rated for a home bigger than mine. Does this sound normal? Can it only keep the house at 35%? If I turn it way up shoudn't it run a lot? Even if I turn it to

SOURCE: Install HE220 HoneyWell , humidity not increasing in the house.

You can try installing the water line to your hot water if it is installed on cold line for more humidification. You should make sure your humidistat is up line 6" @least from humidifier for proper humidification measurement.

You may need to replace the valve that is wired to the furnace that controls the water flow

SOURCE: We had a honeywell humidifier

Yes when you turn the dial on the humidistat 24 volts gets sent to the solenoid valve and it will click open and allow water to flow through it.

No water flow through solenoid

The water flow through the humidifier is limited/controlled by an orifice. This small opening can easily clog. After disassembly use a small wire to clear the debris trapped in the small hole,

Hope this helps?

I hear no water draining from my heathy soluions lennox humidifier just put in a new filter

None leaking? Try removing the cover, and manually cycling on the controler switch? Does the solenoid click on, next to the humidifier (the unit with the water line running through it, with wires coming out of it)? If it does click on, is water running down the water pad? It doesn't necessarily drain water when it's working correctly. All of the water SHOULD be getting evaporated into the air return duct.

If it's clicking on, but no water is running out, you should check the water supply saddle valve and make sure it wasn't turned off during servicing.

If it's not clicking on, you should test that you are getting voltage (12v-18v DC) to the solenoid. If you're not, check all wiring connections and make sure they're tight. If you still don't get power, you have either a problem with your control unit/humidistat, your DC power supply, or the control board on your furnace.

Honeywell he220 humidifier problems

It doesn't necessarily drain water when it's working correctly. All of the water SHOULD be getting evaporated into the air return duct.

If you still don't get power, you have either a problem with your control unit/humidistat, your DC power supply, or the control board on your furnace. You may need to call a HVAC technician at that point, depending on your comfort level/skill level in that regard.

When you say the solenoid "stays hot" do you mean it's physically hot to the touch? Hotter than the water lines running into it?

If the solenoid is getting hot, it probably has a bad coil, and if you continue to operate it, you will probably burn up your DC power supply.

If you're getting voltage, you have water pressure, and the solenoid is still not opening, replace the solenoid.

Wire Honeywell HE220 to N8MPN/L, *8MPN/L furnace control board

HI

I have similar isssue with HE220 but in my case the water run through all ththe time, even when unplugged from the power outlet.
Would that be solenoid issue?
the unit run fine for last season so the wiring is fine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Water runs when furnace is off, but stops when furnace is on.

the 760 humidifier does not need a transformer wired externally. the 760 has its' own 24v transformer inside the fan compartment. this transformer will provide the power to enrgize the water solenoid as needed. it sounds like to me the additional trasnformer is hot all the time. when the furnace comes on, the unit gets power and the internal transformer is cancelling the power from the external transformer. this would explain why it quits running when the heat is on. since the external transformer is hot all time, when the heat shuts off, the solenoid is getting energized by the external transformer. to make this run correctly, you need to get rid of the external transformer. leave the humidifier high voltage wires hooked up so they are only hot when the furnace runs. if you have a humidistat that has a r and c terminal, you will need to wire these directly to the r and c on the furnace control board and move the switch inside the humidistat to "power". make sure it is not on "bypass". then wire your 2 brown wires from the humidifier to each of the "h" terminals on the humidistat. if you have a humidistat that only has 2 terminals, wire one brown wire to each of the terminals. this should allow it to run properly.

Water not running through humidifer

Mine had the same problem no water through the solenoid. It turned out to be the little adapter with the needle hole on it, attached to the solenoid on the intake side. It was clogged, cleaned it out and works great now.
