This should be from your internet provider:
usually it is a email and a password.
Sometimes you must use the login info on your modem
Your ISP should be able to supply this info.

I LOST INSTALLATION CD FOR MY D-LINK DIR-600

->Download the manual from the router website and find the username and password,if you don't no the default password. Then reset the router to go for default login.

->Most d-Link routers have the IP address of 192.168.0.1 login using username and password.
->After login select "Manual Wireless Network Setup" from setup tab.
->Your basic wireless network settings are in this screen. First, give your wireless router a name that you can recognize it by. Secondly, select a type of Security Mode. WEP-Personal should be efficient for most people's usages. After that is selected a new window at the bottom appears.Type your password in the Pre-Shared Key, scroll to the top and hit save, and that's all there is to it.

Dir 615 Instructions

Hi,
You can access the router through web interface and configure it.
The default username is admin and leave the the password field blank - Don't type anything - and Click Login). All you have to do is connect the router to the DSL Modem through LAN cable (or wirelessly) and make configure the router according to the needs and ISP. To secure the connection follow the following steps: -
First you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer) by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is 192.168.0.1 (written at the back of router) and lookup for the options to do the following: -
1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router
2. Change the default administrative user name and password (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and leave the the password field blank - Don't type anything)
(The above step would prevent unauthorized access to your router)

Next step is to secure it:
1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Settings" 2.Under "Security Options", select your desired encryption method (preferably WPA2-PSK)
3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length
4. Click Apply

Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet.

By holding down the button in the back, you may have reset it to factory defaults for the password and username. Try using Admin for the user name and motorola for the password.

I don't know how to set a password on my d-link router because my internet is insecure. How do i do this? I have the default username and password, but i don't know what to do from there.

1.Open your Internet browser and type in the default IP address for your DIR-625 wireless router: 192.168.0.1. A window will appear asking for your DIR-625 wireless router network name and password. If you do not know your existing network name, enter the default network name, "Admin." Leave the password blank. If you have already set up a network name and password, enter it now. Select "Log In."

2.Select "Wireless Settings" from the left-hand navigation bar. Put a check mark in the box marked "Enable Wireless."

3.Type your new wireless network name for your DIR-625 in the box labeled "Wireless Network Name."

4.Type your new password for your DIR-635 in the box labeled "Pre-Shared Key."

5.Select "Save Settings" from the top of the screen to save your new password.

Dir-300 dlink router asking to reset to factory after installatio

there's an easy way to reset your router back to its factory setting... inspect the physical appearance of your router... there should be s small hole.... inside that small hole is a reset button

How to reset? ..... while the router is on...Using a small pointing object, much better if you use a paper clip..... insert the paper clip to the hole... press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds...

That's it your router will restart itself and the settings is back to its factory settings...

Hope that help you..

Problem with my wireless router.

To do that, you must first configure your router. Type in your browser the ip of your gateway. To get your gateway ip, type in your command prompt "ipconfig". Once type, you will be prompted with a username and a password. If you used this for the first time, the username and password are the default of your router. Once you are in, there is a menu there that you can configure to put in your wireless password. Choose WPA, it is much stronger password type.
