Hi Donna

It sounds like the machine still wants a new black toner, normally this message clean fuser input" clears whent he machine reconises a new Original non refilled cartridge being fitted, so it sounds like you have either a faulty cart or a non gen HP cart fitted like a aftermarket or refill. People often get confused that a cart they are using is OEM when in fact it is a OEM empty that has just been refilled or it isnt HP at all usally marked as "for use in HP" so please ensure we are in fact fitting real toners, if you fitted a HP one you would have to tear open the box it comes in.

If it was call I would unplug it from your pc, power it off then on, remove all your cartridges and ensure they are original HP, I'd remove the fuser and clean the discharge lamp area see HERE.
Id replace any consumable that look suss or was leaking. I test via the control panel ie menu/ information/ print supplies status. Can you get a status page out or does the error stop you?

If it still failed the first thing to do would be to replace black toner cart with another as I think your is faulty. If it is real HP then is a gaurantied item so take it back for replacement.

If a tec was their just 3 days ago it too should be covered, most companies like mine allow recall warranty on repair work on same fault if it occurs within 30 days or original call.

Here your user manual and a pic below of what it wants cleaned but mind you normally a new toner clears the message regardless, please note this error wasnt included in original machine realease it was a firmware update that added it so it may not be listed in early prints of manuals for your machine.

Let me know how you go the more info the better

Cheers

Steve

50.2 error hp lj m4345 mfp

50.2 is a fuser warmup error.
If you have technical experience with printers, reseat the fuser.
Problem could be the fuser, the DC Controller or the power supply.
Have someone that works on printers take a look at it. If you haven't
done it before, you arn't going to be able to replace the DC Controller or power supply.

Your fuser is failing, specifically the thermostat...but generally you have to replace the entire assembly.

Black toner flakes on paper

Hi,
This could be a couple of things, easiest thing to try first is to put a different toner cartridge in, something that has already been opened because it would save you from opening a new one. Another thing you can try is sending a cleaning page through the printer to clean off excess toner from the fuser unit. What happens is over time toner builds up on the lower pressure roller of the fuser unit and after being heated and cooled so much the toner starts to flake off on your print outs. Follow these steps to try to clean the lower pressure roller:

To run the cleaning page manually
1.If a duplexer is installed, open the rear output bin.

2.Press check mark(SELECT button) or the MENU button to open the menus.

3.Use (UP ARROW button) or (DOWN ARROW button) to scroll to CONFIGURE DEVICE, and then press

4.Use or to scroll to PRINT QUALITY, and then press the check button

5.Use (UP ARROW button) or (DOWN ARROW button) to scroll to CREATE CLEANING PAGE for the(LJ 4200/4300) or PROCESS CLEANING PAGE if you printer is a(LJ 4250/4350) then press the check mark

6.Follow the instructions on the cleaning page to complete the cleaning process (LJ 4200/4300
only).

7.If a duplexer is installed, close the rear output bin.

This should help clear some of the flaking toner, if not you might have to replace the fuser unit.

HP 5500dn Color Printer - When you run your hand across the copy the letters feel ''raised'' and toner comes off on your hand and flecks of toner are on the back of the previous page. I recenlty replaced...

Hi,
It sounds like the fuser, which uses heat to transfer the ink to the paper, is not working properly. If there isn't enough heat then the ink doesn't get bonded to the paper properly and flakes off. It could be that the fuser heating element is dying in which case you would need to buy a new fuser assembly. It may also be that the media type setting on the printer does not match the paper you're using. Heavier paper usually needs a higher fuser temperature than plain paper, which the correct media type setting should account for. The printer manual also has a list of paper types that you cannot use with the printer (e.g. inkjet photo paper).

Printing Problem

Image defects on LJ printers are usually the toner cart. or the fuser:

This is the test to determine toner or fuser issue.
Print a test page
When you hear the paper feed into the machine open the top to stop the machine
Remove the toner cart.
You should be able to see the page with printing on it. (This is before the page hits the fuser)
If you can see the image Defect on the page the problem is most likely the cartridge but NOT the fuser.
If the page is clean the problem is most likely the fuser.
Hope this helps

I have black vertical lines

Hi,

Black vertical lines could either be a scratch on the drum or a dirty charging corona wire. Order a new drum and clean the Corona with a brush. Image of Corona This should resolve the issue.
