You could try the actual Kodak site, but if the camera has been immersed in water it is probably ruined, and installing firmware is unlikely to help.

SOURCE: Kodak Easyshare camera turns on and off

Hi, here is whats going on, if your M763 is powering on for 2 secs and the lense opens up then go's right back in, there is a 90% chance you got sand in the unit from say the beach ?

here is a test , when you press the power buttion watch the lense you will notice that the bigger part rotates as it comes out, what you want to do is give it a little help Lightly rotate it abit more just at the point where it normaly stops and go's back in, the cam will prob stay on and work like normal.

now the hard part 2 things to try, a can of AIR from walmarts try to blow out and sand thats around the rings, i did this and have fixed about 20 of these's now, on the others you will need to take it apart and clean the gears and mech of the lense housing then put it all back together.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Kodak Easyshare camera turns on and off

Yes you are. My wife denied that she dropped in the sand but I found a list of photos that she wanted to print on a post-it paper in the cover and it had sand all over the sticky part. Used the pressure air spray to clean the rings and it is back to life. Well It worked but there was some problem during zoom in&out, so I spray the rings while zooming and out and that cleaned it. I hope I don't have to open it to clean the mechanism. Thank you.

SOURCE: My Kodak Easyshare M1063 won't turn on

Try cleaning the contacts from the battery and the battery compartment of the camera. I had the same problem and this fixed it, it seems to be a common problem.

Hi my Kodak EasyShare CD14 Digital Camera is not switching on. I replaced the battery, but there is not any effect on camera. It is not showing anything, and not switching on. How can I switch it on?

Question edited for clarity and written English.
Question moved to model category.

You are the only person to report this problem. It has failed electronically. The only thing you can check is that the battery contacts are clean and shiny. If they have had a depleted battery in there for a long time, they may have corrosion. If that checks out okay, you need to take the camera to a Kodak service centre or a good camera shop for repair.

I had alkaline batteries in my kodak cd14 digital camera ,suddenly it satrted leaking ..now i dont know what to do ? i have not used the camera after that.....pls help !!!

Remove the batteries and clean off the battery fluid from inside the camera. If you don't the battery contacts will corrode and it will not make contact with the new batteries and the camera will not work.
If you do not intend to use the camera for a long time then remove the batteries and only insert them when you want to use the camera. this will stop a battery corroding in your camera.

Cant find usb cables for kodak easyshare cd14 digital camera

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as the free Picasa.

EasyShare CD14 Digital Camera: i bought kodak cd14 two days ago but when i insert...

Hi sir =)
  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
