My Sceptre X20G-Naga III screen will go blank after I turn it on. It will stay on for 1-2 secs before it goes blank. If i hold the s button down on the monitor the screen will come back on briefly. I have this same problem. I'm wondering how muchit may cost to repair...or whether best to just buy a new monitor?

Problem : monitor comes on then flickers then goes off
solution: Replace Capacitor C101 (150uf, 35V) and Fets U101 and U102 (4511GM)

I'm about to do the exact same thing. I think the issue is with the main power board's capacitors. Unfortunately there's no good description as to which caps are responsible for the backlight and which ones are for the TFT's.
I'm assuming the larger 2x 68uf @ 450V and the 2x220uF @ 25V have to be replaced so I'm waiting for those parts now.
If that doesn't work, I'll swap out the 8x470uf @ 25V next.

It's seems your backlight inverter is busted. To repaired by yourself, it cost about $10 in parts. Assuming the proper tools. To buy a new inverter from Screptre it cost about $70. Take your picks...Good lucks!

cyber_icedud, theonejrs, can you get the capacitors measured at a local repair shop to prove that they are faulty and tell us the brand name of the failed electrolytic filter capacitors?? Have any of you guys been to YOUTUBE to view video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly" and/or "LCD monitor repair"??? What brand of filter caps are being installed on the SMPS/inverter printe d circu it board??? I hope they are all 105 deg,. C rated! Good luck guys. 12fixlouie

Your solution, while probably right doesn't tell anyone how to fix it! Pictures or drawings, and what parts are needed would be helpful. I've had the back cover off, but haven't a clue as to what I am looking for. I work on complex electronic equipment for a living, without knowing where to find the Inverter board or what you have to do to repair it, the solution is kind of worthless. With some proper information, I could easily repair this monitor.
