Your PSP is bricked, and unfortunately this cannot be fixed because its a hardware brick. The PSP needs to be replaced.

My psp 1000 keeps turning itself on when not in use, and after i use it for a while it will automatically turn off. My battery seems to work as normal and i dont see a problem with my charger. ive had it...

Two things I can suggest other then trying a new batter. 1. Pull out the battery for a day or two and let it completely die. Put it back in, and then recharge if fully. 2. Reformat your PSP by holding the R-Trigger. A recovery menu should then pop up and a reset command should appear. The PSP should then restart itself and being trying to repair itself.

How to fix Volume issues in PSP Portable

How to Fix a PSP Volume Button through Software
Check to be sure that your PlayStation Portable's AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) is turned off.
Start your PSP without a game in it. Choose "Settings," then select "Sound Settings." If the AVLS option is "ON," turn it "OFF."
Check to see that your memory stick is inserted properly if the sound still does not work. This often interferes with the volume control. Remove the memory stick and reinsert it.
Perform a hard reset of your PSP if the volume still does not work. To do this, first unplug your PSP and remove any games or memory sticks. Then remove the battery from its cavity on the back. Press and hold any button for five seconds, then reinstall your battery.
Move on to hardware solutions if none of the above options work
How to Fix a PSP Volume Button through Hardware
Remove your PlayStation Portable's battery pack, any games and memory sticks. Unplug it.
Unscrew all five screws that hold the faceplate onto your PSP. The fifth is hard to locate, so find it just below the screen on the bottom edge.
Clean the button heads underneath the volume buttons with a small cloth. You should also clean the Home button nearby as this often interferes with the volume button.
Return the faceplate and screws, and test your PSP.

HOME BUTTONS AND UMD PROBLEM

Well if it got hosed by water there is not much of a solution. If your are tech. inclined you can order the control board off of ebay for a fraction of the cost of buying a new psp. There are diagrams on how to disarm and rearm the thing best of luck to you.

Problem loading the NEW PSP ACTION REPLAY.

TADA! answer 4 u.
It's your battery. Take out your battery from the psp and look on the back of it. If, at the top, it says PSP-S110 and at the bottom it says made in China, be bummed. That's what mine said and the codejunkies website warns about that battery. Dunno where to get a new one though. Hey, diagnosing the problem is half the battle. Good luck.

That is what is happening to me except it is in mid game and not on the home screen. I have to pull the battery out also and start playing again. You would think buying Sony and for the price it would work better, so is Sony now making second grade handheld game console.
