My grandmother's go chair has become unresponsive. The controller stays completely blank whether the charger is plugged in or not. Before this the batteries were not charging correctly (so we replaced the batteries), but now the chair won't even turn on. The only service center I know of in the Detroit Metro area is talking almost a month before it may be working and she can't wait that long - this is her only means of moving outside of her room. My assumption is that the controller will need to be replaced (Monster Scooter Parts has the controller listed for $549+ship.), but is there any kind of diagnostic I can do to be sure? I have a multimeter, but no pinout or other technical information.
I have a Golden Alante power chair. The on/off switch will not operate after I got caught in a rain storm. I took the joystick apart and cleaned the contacts with alcohol but it still does not work. I can short across the two terminals on the circuit board to turn it on. The rubber buttons have what I assume is some sort of carbon infused contact to short across the two gold color contacts on the circuit board. That did not help. Does anyone know of a more effective cleaner that might help rejuvenate the contacts? HELP!
