What is dns unavailable. my phone is samsung B3410.. thanks for your help

DNS is a wetting in your phone that allows you to send mail and to browse the internet

You need to set a DNS address in the phone settings. Set it to google DNS as 8.8.8.8 or search for open DNS.

Try the following:
1) Settings
SMTP (outgoing mail) Server for MTN: mail.mtn.co.za
NNTP (usenet) Server: unknown
Proxy/Cache Server: NONE
DNS Servers: Automatic

2)
You have a incoming which should be for example gmail.mtn.co.za and outgoing as mail.mtn.co.za and user name and password need to be the same as your gmail account

Good luck

I just want to confirm that whether samsung s5333 supports push email or everytime we will have to download emails ourselves

Hello try the instructions below, if you do not have gmail or yahoo then you need to find the server info of your email provider or post the name of your email service provider so i can look up their info.

Gmail Account/Server Info
For Gmail, the configuration is
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 587
Secure Connection: TLS

Incoming server type: IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.gmail.com
IMAP4 Port: 993
Secure Connection: SSL

In your Gmail account, go to
Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > IMAP Access > Enable IMAP

Yahoo Account/Server Info
For Yahoo,
Incoming (pop3)
pop.mail.yahoo.co.XX
Port: 995
Use SSL

Outgoing(SMTP)
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.XX
Use SSL
Port 465

Yahoo IMAP settings:
Server: imap-ssl.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 993
Secure Connection: SSL

1. Delete the previously not working Gmail account in your phone
2. Press Menu
3. Select My Accounts
4. Choose the proper type of email account: Do NOT select "Google", but Exchange ActiveSync!
5. On the next screen fill out the Email address:
do not write [email protected], instead use [email protected]!
6. The username will be typed in automatically
7. Type in the password
8. Press Next
9. Press OK for the activation
10. On the next screen type in the server URL: m.google.com

How to setup push mail for samsung monte phone on gmail

I'm not sure if this is of any help
to anyone but these are the steps
I used to set up email on my
Monte. I'm using an old hotmail
account that didn't support IMAP
or SMTP properly.
1.Set Up a GMail account eg.
[email protected]
2.Set GMail to allow IMAP via the
settings link the the top right
hand corner. (under Forwarding
and POP/IMAP)
3.Under accounts and import set
up the send mail as to send mail as
[email protected]. Set this
to default send adress
4.In the same tab under check
mail using pop3 set up the pop3 to
recieve from someone@
hotmail.co.uk
5.Under Email Accounts on the
Monte set up email with the
following charecteristics:
Account Name: Hotmail
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465
Secure Connection: SSL
Incoming Server Type: IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.gmail.com
IMAP Port: 993
APOP login: greyed out
Secure Connection: SSL
Download Limit: 500
IMAP4 incoming email: New
Retrieving option: Whole Message
Keep on server: checked
My email adress: someone@
hotmail.co.uk (This is the adress
the phone puts in the from line of
an email)
Username: [email protected]
Password: gmail password
Pop before smtp: greyed out
SMTP auth: checked
Same as POP3/IMAP4: checked
Username: greyed out
Passowrd: greyed out
This should allow you to recieve
new messages from the time you
set up the gmail account on your
phone and to send emails with all
the appearences of coming from
your hotmail account while
actually coming from google's
smtp server. Really do check that
the GMail is set up properly, make
sure it recieves emails adressed
to your hotmail and that it sends
in your hotmail account's name.
