Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: uploading video: help!

Well, I was looking for the name of the software. I don't think you need to reinstall the software, but you need to read the documentation that came with the software. ...................................... There is a better solution to your problem: Buy a card reader that can read your type of camera memory card. Just plug it into your computer's USB port and Windows XP will see the card reader as being another hard drive. Remove the card from your camera, plug it into the reader. Use Windows Explorer to move the photos and video to your computer. You never have to connect the camera to your computer again.

Can't take pictures, camera says it's in DOCKING mode

It sounds like you may have filled the memory car with pictures, and to continue to use it you must delete those which are on the card. I download my pictures to the computer and then I can delete them from the card and start all over again with taking pictures. I may have misunderstood your problem, if so please excuse me!
