To program a known frequency into the BC340CRS: - Power the scanner ON - Press the E/PGM key to enter programming mode - Enter the number of the channel that you wish to program - Press HOLD - Enter the frequency, including the decimal point (e.g., 156.225) - Press E/PGM to enter the frequency into memory
Press the UP or DOWN arrow to advance to the next channel you wish to program
Press HOLD or SCAN to exit the programming mode.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The BC340CRS has a weather monitor feature that will let you listen to any NOAA weather channels that are active in your area, but it does not have a weather alert feature. To get this feature you'll need to move up to the BC370CRS.
