Sending the unit back to the manufacturer to have the BIOS reset can be expensive and is usually not covered in the warranty. Never fear, all is not lost. unless you have a jumper to undo the password for the Bios, you simply need to remember the password, period. Some systems have a generic back-door password for the bios like dell could be dell or inspiron etc. you can google bios back door passwords
The Bios Password Locked is a nightmare, there is no easy solution. Back door approach is risky and can cause permanent damage to the Bios chip. I know! because when I went on line for possible back door solutions it came with strong warnings, I decided the risk was to high and take a different path. I'am afraid there is no resolution without spending money, all the services that I have come across claim they can crack the Bios code at a price.

This is where your RAM lives remove the ram and locate the two brass or silver bars or pins Bridge these with a paper clip Replace the ram in the sockets replace door and rescrew BOOT machine..
There is a blue jumper located just below the lithium battery on the motherboard. You need to remove the jumper and move it to the two pins on the right for about 10 seconds to clear the CMOS then move the jumper back to where you found it. That should clear out the password. It will also change all the BIOS settings back to factory so adjustments to the BIOS may need to be made after reset.
The only backdoors to a Dell portable BIOS password are generated by Dell Tech support. 800-624-9896 You have to prove you are na authorized user and if out of warranty, you may need to pay a fee.
I can't help with any Back door passwaord BUT I have found a couple of BIOS Password Removers... perhaps ya can just get rid of the "Old" one and ya be all good? I "Googled" the following ....
