At some point, you'll encounter a password issue on your Toshiba laptop computer for several possible reasons. For instance, you may have decided to go back to the old laptop, and it's been a while since you last logged into it. Forgetting a password is also common if you tend to create different codes for various uses: email, network administrator user information and bank account details, for instance. Should you need to unlock a Toshiba laptop computer that runs on Windows XP, here is what you can do.
1.Use a Windows installation CD to reset your password for your Toshiba laptop computer. This is the same one that you got when you purchased the computer. Boot the laptop using the CD in the same way that you would go through a re-installation for your operating system. Simply insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive and wait for the computer to read it. From there, you will get a prompt that says "press any key to boot from CD," so you just need to follow as instructed.
2.Repair Windows. Once the CD starts up, you will get to a screen that will ask you whether you want to "Install Windows" or "Repair Windows." Press "R" to repair. The computer will then reboot itself after copying files from the CD into the Toshiba laptop's hard drive.
3.Get into the control panel. After the computer boots up, you will encounter a screen that will say "Installing devices." To open the command prompt, press the keys "Shift + F10." On the command prompt, type in "nusrmgr.cpl."
4.Change your password. Getting into the control panel will allow you to change your password using the administrator's control panel utilities. Just go through the process of designating a new password to unlock your Toshiba laptop and then exit the command prompt.
5.Restart the laptop and try logging back in using the new password.
6.Log on without the Windows XP installer. If you don't have a Windows bootable CD, use another computer with internet access so you can create an emergency recovery disk (ERD) that will allow you to unlock a Toshiba laptop. Browse through the internet and search for ERD software.
7.Burn the ERD program into the blank CD and use it to reboot the Toshiba laptop that you want to unlock. The computer will automatically detect the program, so it will take you to a series of prompts where you can change your password.

The factory installed drivers and applications can be re-installed by using Gateway eRecovery
Click Start, and then All Programs Click Gateway, and then Gateway eRecovery Management You may be prompted to enter or create a password. This password will be required to use eRecovery in the future. In the next window on the left toolbar, select Restore. Choose Reinstall Drivers or Applications Choose Contents Choose the driver or application you wish to install On the right, click the Install link and follow the prompts. The computer should restart when installation is completed. If it doesn't restart, manually shutdown and restart the computer by pressing and holding the power button until it powers off. And then start it as you normally do.

Unfortunately the Motorola SB5100 SURFboard is not a wireless device. The Linksys you are trying to connect to is most likely someone in your area and they have it password protected, which is why it is asking for a password.
In order to setup Wireless you will need to invest in a Linksys, Netgear, D-Link, or some other Wireless Router. They can be found at any computer store.
Once you have the wireless router you can connect an Ethernet cable from the Motorola SB5100 SURFboard to the Wireless Router. From there follow the instructions for the Wireless Router you purchased to set it up and secure it.
If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.
Try to install the same driver for Windows xp in windows 7 in Compatibility Mode
For running in Compatibility Mode in windows 7 Right Click the app and select the properties select the Compatibility Tab select the os =windows xp sp3 and dont forget ti tick "Run ad Administrator"
basically the main cause of the is issue is regards with dhcp settings or with in the ethernet adapter of your pc: wel there are some ways to resolved his kind of issue: 1. run command prompt.. 2. type netsh winsock reset... (winsocket will be reseted) 3. rebooted pc..( if ever promted to register dns) just run command prompt again and type registerdns.. then rebooot pc again: then test..

If the modem is already registered to your ISP then you can plug the modem to your computer using an Ethernet cable (CAT5) to your computer's ethernet port and to the modem's port as well.
If you want to use the USB cable then you need to install the drivers for it. You may go to motorola website and type in the model number of your modem to get and download the drivers.
Though, I suggest that you use the Ethernet connection instead.
Hi,
Create a temporary folder say C:\Motorola and put all your unzipped Motorola USB drivers. Install your Cable Modem. If and when Windows asked where the drivers may be located, point to the C:\Motorola.
If your modem has already been installed and operational and you simply want to update its current drivers > go to Device Manager and right click on your modem to update, likewise point to the C:\Motorola.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
